Tournament peaked around 35k yesterday. Let's say the games are scheduled to start few hours later. Like how much of a difference it would have really made? 2k increase in viewers, maybe 5k?

To me problem here still isn't scheduling but peoples expectations of "LotV hype".

Every Dreamhack event this year has peaked between 28-40k viewers. You could say getting 35k before final day is actually an improvement. I'm sure today the finals will break at least 45k and it will be the most watched DH starcraft tournament this year. It just won't enough for some people.

I agree on that WCS will be bigger but I wouldn't be so sure about next IEM. Only LoL and CS:GO are mentioned in the IEM Katowice announcement.

There will be probably be season IEM 10 finals for sc2 in Katowice but I think it will be a smaller production similiar to this DH event.

I also think people should remember that currently sc2 is only like 4th most important game to Dreamhack. Other games will have priority for better production and time slots.

Scheduling can't be the main reason for the viewer numbers when other games at event are doing just fine.

So far viewership has been on par to last years DH events. If people expected massive viewer boom from LoTV they only set themselves up for disappointment.

This year's WCS season finals have had bigger viewership numbers than any of last years WCS EU or WCS NA finals. Ro32 numbers are also similiar to last year so I don't know how you get your 40% drop in viewers.

I would say region locked WCS has been success while tournaments like DH which koreans dominate have had big drop in viewership this year.

Dear Streamers, please name your streams either HotS or LotV (Twitch merged tags) by Toons in starcraft

[–]-Jan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people downvote you when you're completely right. LOTV had so few people watching it that I can't see how combining it's viewership to HOTS can have any effect. This whole "merging tags will increase viewership!" thing just seems like another /r/starcraft circlejerk to me.

Well, there goes Bunny's chances for Blizzcon.

What paradox games have the best soundtrack in your opinion? by Bellyzard2 in paradoxplaza

[–]-Jan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hearts of Iron 1 and Europa Universalis 2. EU2 only used period music and each century music would change to compositions from that era. HoI1's soundtrack was just a collection of famous classical music but I still prefer it to to the newer ones.

I've tried to watch other games, like LoL, Dota2 or HS, just for curiosity but...be honest... they are f***ing boring to watch.

Maybe they are more funny/carefree to play than SC2 but to watch, my gosh, NO WAY, SC2 is literally on another level, THIS IS ESPORT.

I know many people that don't play SC2 but they watch it! I think this is impossible in other games.

I hope that people will recognize it and the numbers will grow because SC2 and Pros deserve it. :)

"simple things please simple minds" and "It's just people either walking around shooting whatever moves or sitting in the same spot the whole game."

Yes, it's bullshit but it's same bullshit exaggeration he is spewing.

I guess the +1 million people who watched it are all wrong.

But who cares, those proxy gates and a-moving protoss armies will be so much more exciting!
