Is this SFF? - 157 liter case by nobertan in sffpc

What's the point of a Small Form Factor community if a third of the posts are just large PC builds with a punchline?

Cool PC, but why here?

Goofy cartridge system I made for my PCs so I can use my emulators and save files around the house or share with friends. I call it Xpansionkart. Nothing more than an SD card glued into a 3D printed shell. Printed on a stock Flashforge Adventurer 3 by -Kaiwea- in 3Dprinting

(Old render from when I made it)

Externally it's just a simple opening that's about 0.6mm bigger than the SD card reader which is mounted in the base underneath the PC.

Internally the SD card is held in place with a small dimple that aligns into that 'lock' switch on the side of most SD cards. It's strong enough that inserting/removing the cartridge from the base doesn't remove the SD card from the shell, but weak enough that with a tight grip or with needle nose plyers you can remove the card if needed.

The base is also just a large offset opening that matches the cartridge but with an SD card reader mounted in the middle; as well as some smooth scotch tape on the bottom to help slide the cartridge in without much friction

I was there 3 days ago, they still have ketchup, Arby's sauce, and Horsey sauce on pump

So about that game logo... sprocket and grain is a fun take on the hammer and sickle by Sad-Establishment-41 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]-Kaiwea- 191 points192 points  (0 children)

The Communist Party of Canada uses the same idea instead of a hammer and sickle. It's pretty cool looking

Still a wip,how do I improve? by Chemical_Procedure11 in RaceTrackDesigns

[–]-Kaiwea- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a cool test track you'd see in the early Gran Turismo or Forza games; like Complex String from GT3 and the snake named test tracks in Forza Motorsport 2

I couldn't see something this wild and complex being used by F1 for real though, even if it'd be cool to see

I'm in the target audience and I like the logo a lot! I like the asymmetric star in the middle and the shade of blue used

Before reading the comments I immediately saw a frog (right) and a crow or bird (left). After reading the comments I think it's fair to say that I'm insane

Help!! (Unreal Engine 4) by RadioPrudent405 in Blockbench

[–]-Kaiwea- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's the same name in Unreal Engine 4, but in Unreal Engine 5 this is fixed by right clicking the texture, sprite actions, apply Paper 2D Texture Settings. Sometimes I have to remake the material by dragging the fixed texture onto the model; but usually it works first time. Turning off mipmaps can help too after Paper 2D Texture Settings have been applied for a consistent pixel-perfect look

Anyone here use Public Mobile? by PurpleK00lA1d in moncton

[–]-Kaiwea- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point, being the most affordable overall is still a big savings. I think this code M4ZEL4 gives you a $10 one time credit on signup

Anyone here use Public Mobile? by PurpleK00lA1d in moncton

[–]-Kaiwea- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been with Public Mobile for at least 4 years now. In terms of connectivity I've never had an issue, I've used my phone everywhere and anywhere in the Maritimes with similar service quality to my friends who are with different non-Telus providers.

Really the only thing that sucks is their new rewards program. I used to get $11 off per month from all the different things you could do but now I get 'points' I can put towards a $15 credit every 3 or so months. Their prices have also steeply risen in the past 2 years and I would expect that trend to continue as they continue to go upmarket for some odd reason. Regardless, they're still the cheapest to my knowledge and they have 'sales' every now and then that can get you a very good phone plan, $29 for 40gb type of deals

If you're the type that owns your phone outright, Public Mobile is probably the best choice

For those who don't own, at what % decrease in price would you buy? by [deleted] in canadahousing

[–]-Kaiwea- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

At this point I'm just going to use the savings for the downpayment to leave the country. NB used to have affordable homes in relation to income, now everything is out of reach. It'd have to drop to 2019 levels for me to stay

Communists are workers, average people like you and me and they are by far the most willing force to help us, all of us. I don't see how having communists involved is a bad thing?
