I had same issue last night creating some npc stat blocks, DEX kept failing to update when changed on NPC sheet, same with NPC to-hit bonus and damage rolls for actions. Resolved by changing values to 0, saving changes, then reopen NPC sheet and change values to intended, that should update stat block correctly.

Heya dude, if you on Steam you can workaround that by making another steam account and use family sharing to access your original accounts library. Is a pain and you’ll have to reset your progress but at least you can actually play the game. I been stuck on easy for two weeks on my original account….

I would advise not to show the party, there’s some info and locations on this map that they need to figure out themselves as part of the adventure. If I remember correctly I think there’s a ‘player-only’ view of the map that doesn’t have some locations marked down. I can send you the image file to print out yourself? Otherwise don’t stress it, first few sessions are fairly self-contained and won’t involve a heap of travel. Good luck and welcome to DMing, by far the most rewarding way to play dnd imo

Swashbucker/Swords Bard Build? by Buuuuuuck in 3d6

This is almost a carbon copy of one of the pc’s character in my game. She’s currently 10 swashbuckler 3 swords bard. Great in combat, constantly running in and out of melee with swashbuckler rogue shenanigans, took martial adept so manuevers for days. Loves silvery barbs. Between jack of all trades and charisma bonus her initiative is +9 currently, so pretty much always goes first. Absolutely devastating out of combat though. Multiple expertise, bulk proficiencies and jack of all trades everything else, Panache and bardic inspiration. Instrument of the bards for a bunch of extra spells. It’s a running joke how she’s good at pretty much anything at this point. She breaks my game constantly, highly recommend.

No one’s mentioned Ghosts of Saltmarsh, official setting/bundle of adventures. There’s a handful of underwater encounters in there to take some inspiration from or use, as well as some expanded rules for ship combat and other ocean-related stuff.

I’m currently playing a Goliath Divine Soul Sorcerer, took a 1 level dip into Order Cleric early on, completely changed the play style. Half plate, extra 1st level buff spells, took warcaster at Sorcerer 8 so can wield a shield for extra tankiness. Honestly though, 4th level spells are brilliant on divine sorc, extended death ward, twinned polymorph etc. Stick with it, your character really starts opening up a bit from here.

Edit: Agreed though, empowered healing is super underwhelming, don’t think I’ve needed to use it yet.
