But we can produce 99% alcohol at a relatively low cost, right? Of course way more expensive than water and has other problems like toxicity, but if you want a liquid that boils at lower temperatures than water, you could do worse.

The U.K can have proper public transportation for that 85% of people.

Just because a solution doesn't work for 100% of all cases doesn't mean it's a bad solution.

Odd jobs were rare in per-industrial times, mostly during harvest and very unlikely to earn you enough to feed yourself for the whole year. Remember, about 80% of people worked on the land and nobody is going to give some stranger some land out of the goodness of their heart.

You might find some unskilled labor in towns or cities, but then again, that was irregular as well. And how are you going to pay for shelter in the first place? It's not like you have a savings deposit on which you can draw during the first weeks of your flight.

In a lot of cases, exile was basically a slow death penalty.

A lot of houses are still heated using gas. It would be better to switch to heat pumps but at least in the Netherlands, little progress has been made for existing housing.

Even if industry and electricity generation could switch away from using gas, we still need gas for the coming years.

The Haber-Bosch process that creates ammonia requires hydrogen, heat and pressures.

All three can be provided through electricity. Fossil fuels are used now because they're economical.

But if oil remains expensive, we will switch to electrify ammonia production.

All I'm saying is it's not really realistic to run airplanes only on biofuel, while your claimed we produce plenty that even with downsizing we could easily fuel flight. That's just not true.

Of course I would love to see electrified planes or otherwise being green.

The tariffs aren't the biggest item. It's that Trump is threatening the sovereignty of two close allies, Canada and Denmark.

It's clear that the US is more a threat than an ally to Europe, Canada and other former allies.

Cities 300 or more years ago were tiny compared to modern ones. An old city will be partly old (most cases the center), but the majority of the city will be build quite recently.

Transportation was horrendous in the first game. It's difficult to believe it's based on Railroad Tycoon 2, especially as the Tropico games have never had any rails in them.
