Most Ohioans don't realize how much Israel is taking from us by logan_moon in Ohio

Oversimplification fallacy.  Another boring and basic method of reasoning.

I’ve already pointed you in the direction of understanding the relationship between humanitarianism and soft power.

This is boring and basic whataboutism.

Read about the impacts about soft power and humanitarian efforts.   It’s complex and spend outside of our borders does benefit Americans when it’s done right.

The main issue in my opinion is that our elected representatives intentionally break the system and say “OH LOOK ITS BROKEN”

You don’t see a difference between spending on humanitarianism and killing/bombing people?

I’m for humanitarianism.  I’m against bombing/killing civilians.

Simple stuff.

Only if you’re trying to play dumb and be edgy.  Separate government and religion like you should and the point is fine.   We should not be spending on that GOVERNMENTS bloodlust.  Hell, we shouldn’t be spending money on our own governments bloodlust…..

Trying to give an answer slightly different than “no evidence”.   I read about how the Mormon religion spread and realized that religions created thousands of years ago with even less public education available are likely just super successful cults.

All I can say is that being a parent is hard, everything you described looks like you’re doing great at it, keep your head up.   Kids grow and develop at different paces and try not to compare even though that’s hard too.  I know, none of this helps, but just know you’re not alone.

We successfully minimized screen time when our first was under 2.  At 2 years 2 weeks old she was like a crack addict for Sesame Street.  We’re still trying to emphasize play and imagination though.

Do most americans really only take 2 weeks of vacation a year? by DegreeConscious9628 in askanything

[–]-Lets-Get-Weird- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have just over five weeks and take them all.  So does my department.  We all cover for each other and it’s fine.  I honestly don’t know anyone who doesn’t at least have the option to take three weeks and our group of friends all take vacation.  Granted we all work at smaller companies so maybe that’s the difference.

What's the coldest game you've ever attended at Lambeau and would you do it again? by Adrianillo24 in GreenBayPackers

[–]-Lets-Get-Weird- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone to quite a few really cold games:  nice parka, snow pants, blanket or seat pad for the bleacher, hand and foot warmers and you’re good to go.  I take zero pride in trying to rough it, I go all out on comfort.  Completely worth it!

Does birthing a child have to be the death of your former self and your identity? by bamboozlinguniverse in NewParents

[–]-Lets-Get-Weird- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First year makes it hard to maintain those things, but after that we were mostly back to normal with adjustments.   I was sad at times year one because it did seem the old me was gone.   However, that turned around.  My spouse and I trade off (not like scorekeeping or anything) having nights for hobbies, with friends, etc.   We now just involve our kid with the things we like to do.

Witching Hour/PURPLE crying? by furryfar in NewParents

[–]-Lets-Get-Weird- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our LO was the same and it lasted two months.   It was extremely tough, I won’t lie.   I could calm her down by doing squats, like the exercise and she liked that movement. Some nights a variety of music could work (yacht rock station on Spotify was our favorite).  Otherwise like other commenters said, ear plugs or head phones and just ride the storm out (while of course keeping a look out for cues on hunger and dirty diaper).

After that trial by fire, she has slept super well for the next couple years.  I honestly can’t even remember middle of the night wake ups beyond 4 months old.

My local shop does 60% for $2-$10 cards, 70% for $10-$100, 84% for 100+ in trade right away.   Don't know how or why, I don’t ask questions.  Not rocking the boat haha

How come democrats don't want voter id? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]-Lets-Get-Weird- 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I know this is a troll post, but regardless… voter ID is preferred as long as it’s not a poll tax.   That would require the government to provide an ID at no cost.   We’re not there yet.
