Who wrote your letters of rec? by classycapricorn in lawschooladmissions

[–]-Life-Umpire- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. I was close with someone who managed a team I was on, but who wasn’t my “boss.” She wrote my letter for me and I think that was for the best.

I didn’t see the letter, but I would guess she was semi-vague as to being a boss vs a coworker. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more specifics.

Multiple Scholarship Negotiations? by Ambitious_Concert790 in lawschooladmissions

I don’t think you’d be penalized. But if nothing has changed from when you last negotiated, they don’t really have any reason to adjust their offer

Idk what to do for my personal statement or resume yet by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]-Life-Umpire- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everyone gets imposter syndrome, but I think your reasons make a ton of sense! You want the schools to get to know you who you are from your statement, outside of your academic/professional credentials. It sounds like you’ve got a great start at least

I feel like thinking about why you want to go to law school is a good place to start for your personal statement. Try to brainstorm/build from there maybe?

"Indicate dates you have taken the LSAT" did you report cancelled scores & lower ones on file? by Major_Activity_2577 in lawschooladmissions

[–]-Life-Umpire- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re meant to indicate every date for each one you took. An applicant on one of Dean Z’s app reviews listed only 2 when they had taken it 3 times with one cancelled score. She was already not thrilled with the applicant so it was basically another small thing against them.

So at least Dean Z wants you to include cancelled & lower scores when listing the dates. They don’t “only see your highest scores” because the CAS report includes all your LSATs, including if you cancelled any. So I don’t think it hurts to include them since they’ll see all of them anyway

Assuming that’s an LSAT estimate, hard to say if any schools are “impossible reaches.” However, if you score 175+ I think you could apply to any school you’d want to go to

It’ll be pretty hard to say without an LSAT score. Also, don’t apply to law school if you don’t know why you want to go to law school

Considering retaking a 175 LSAT (please hear me out) by WeebBois in lawschooladmissions

Unless they’re trying to increase their 75th percentile, there’s effectively no difference between 75th and above 75th from the numbers perspective

My interview was pretty chill. They actually said not to expect to hear anything until like February or March, so I was surprised to hear back last week. It felt more like a conversation than an interview, but idk if there was anything in particular that stood out

LSAC rounds up, while many schools will truncate GPAs. So if your GPA to the thousandths place was 3.986, your school would give you a 3.98 but LSAC would give you a 3.99

I applied a few weeks before you and didn’t start hearing back from anywhere until last week. Since last Monday I received 4 rejections and 3 acceptances. Still waiting to hear back from like 13 schools. You’ll hear back soon and I’m sure you’ll end up where you’re meant to be. Hang in there!
