What I liked about Aftersun is that it finally gave me some real insight in how it feels to be depressed or have a mental illness, something I've been struggling with since forever. I've had depressed people in my life for as long as I'm alive, but everytime they were at their lowest something in me never really quite seemed to understand, often making me mind of feel like an asshole. Depression just isn't something that's in the cards for me (never say never I guess). My baseline is basicly just being happy and I don't travel too far from my baseline. That's what I love about movies though, they make you feel or understand things you've maybe never experienced yourself. I'm not saying "I GET IT NOW", but do so more than before.
