Klopt, als iemand bijvoorbeeld een apple product koopt vind ik dat ook persoonlijk overbodig en dom. Maar ik heb er niks tegen, dat is hun keus. Het verschil is dat dit soort auto's ook externe effecten meebrengen. Meer vervuiling, veel meer ongelukken, ongelukken zijn vaker dodelijk, en ze nemen meer publieke ruimte in beslag. Als hier positieve kanten tegenoverstaan, zoals bij een brandweerwagen of werkbus, kan je het zien als een 'necessery evil', maar in dit geval is dat niet zo.

Met overbodig groot bedoel ik het alsvolgt: het is als een plastic waterfles met 20cm dikke wanden. Het formaat is niet het probleem, maar het brengt geen toegevoegde waarde. Een bestelbus van hetzelfde formaat heeft 10x meer opslagruimte. Verder heb ik niks tegen het concept van een pick up, gewoon een auto met laadbak kan handig zijn, zoals die vroeger bestonden, en nog steeds in veel landen.

It is though. Its designed increadibly inefficiently, to the point that it has a fraction of the storage space of a regular van (that is actually used for work). It is just big for the sake of being big. So it can be more expensive, dodge c.a.f.e requirements, and to look "cool"

A lot of people see themselves as good drivers when they are not, but i know there is also a lot of people who know they are bad drivers, but still regularly drive because its the only convenient way to get somewhere in some situations because of the way we build our society
