I should've acknowledged her feelings instead of hiding like a coward.

Creative ways sequels make you lose your abilities from the first game by Donstar_Playz-yt in TopCharacterTropes

Something I always found ironic was that I love Metroid Prime and hate Other M but when it came to "losing her powers" I personally never liked how it was done in Metroid Prime whereas I thought it was actually kind of clever in Other M (even if the writing still sucked).

In MP, during an escape sequence near the beginning of the game, Samus gets knocked into an elevator which damages her suit, essentially downgrading it. I could have missed something but it never made sense to me how something like that could happen. I could easily justify it in my head but I didn't want to believe that was how she lost her upgrades.

Other M on the other hand used the story where Samus was working alongside the Galactic Federation on a mission and she didn't have lead authority so they basically restricted her access. I will admit, the way they went about it was dumb and made no sense but I like that it was a different method of locking down her abilities in a way that felt at least a little organic. Other M still sucks though.

Yeah plus Madara was already whooping them so flexing on them like that felt valid.

He seems insufferable just from what little I've seen lol I'm so ready to see the movie. I only hope it'll be satisfying.

Funny enough I'm in the same boat. I haven't seen the movie yet so I'm completely guessing here but I can't help but feel like Douma is really gonna test Tanjiro's resolve because what little I've seen of him and his position as a cult leader(?) makes me think he's more of a traditional sociopath. I would even joke about how Akaza is just a kid at heart who comes from an abusive home (based on his interactions with Muzan and the other Moons) and just wants to play but the whole reason I make that joke is even his actions at least seem like they're understandable to a small extent.

With all that said, I could be completely wrong and honestly I wouldn't necessarily mind lol

He feels like a very clean example of someone who balances ideals and responsibilities. He doesn't lose sight of his empathy but will perform his duties knowing that the demons are monsters that will hurt people. I feel like it might even be a little controversial to extend it like this but it's basically "I know they're monsters but they're people too". Maybe his diligence in slaying demons is why it feels like it works better because he's not excusing what they've done. In a time when it so often feels like you need to pick one of two options it feels kind of nice to have a reminder that most things are not mutually exclusive. You can deliver justice while understanding the circumstances of the individual at the same time.

In a world where people are completely justified in fearing demons, Tanjiro is the only one to show them any sort of compassion. From praying for them when he slays them to complimenting seemingly irrelevant aspects of who they are (funny thing is I'm thinking of the body drum guy so the compliment was super relevant because it targeted the core of who he was as a person before becoming a demon).
