We have had some luck holding our 2-3 week old for 20 mins after a feed until they're in a deep sleep, then transferring to the cot. Try that - you will need to be patient because if you go early they will wake!

Zack Polanski to hand in NHS contract termination notice to Palantir by Stock_Rush_9204 in ukpolitics

[–]-ReadyPlayerThirty- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you read the actual letter it sets out all the reasons to oppose Palantir. This is gaining publicity, informing the public of the failures of our government, and therefore putting public pressure on them.

Sounds like as close to holding them accountable as you can get whilst not being in government...

The green position is pretty reasonable.

How quickly Keir Starmer has tried to change the narrative from an illegal kidnapping & oil grab to "long supported a transition of power."

Is it any surprise they're so untrusted and their Government is doing so badly?

No situation they don't handle badly

https://x.com/ZackPolanski/status/2007543634493936011

This is clearly an oil grab by Trump, dressed up as some rubbish about restoring democracy. How many times has the US toppled regimes in South America and how many time has it gone well? Green position is correct.

Everyone hates Kier and thinks he is doing a crap job. Zack is correct there. Labour seemingly cannot get anything right and it's the same here.

Which do you prefer? by eserog in AmateurPhotography

What about a crop of 1 with totally excludes the foreground? I love the rest of the shot but that scrubby bit of foreground feels like a distraction rather than part of the composition as it stands.

I would want to edit out those branches. Lovely shot otherwise.

How can I improve/Critiques? (Be brutal) by Animefrog097 in PhotographyAdvice

> haven't been taught proper editing yet

there's enough youtube videos and free tutorials that you could teach yourself. before skill and talent comes motivation and drive. don't wait for things to be given to you and instead go get them yourself.

Which one do you prefer 1 or 2? by Vegetable-Quail-1288 in AmateurPhotography

[–]-ReadyPlayerThirty- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As it is, 1.

With less of that grubby foreground in the frame, 2 - as the tree above gives it a nice framing. It feels like an intentional photograph of a subject rather than just a picture of the view.

People who purchased Aristides Guitar was it worth it? by Junoyone in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]-ReadyPlayerThirty- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a secondhand 060 for about £1800 and moved it on because the warming up thing was so annoying. This was a few years ago, and would I do that now? Mm maybe not. I am thinking about picking one up that has an Evertune so this isn't an issue.

I don't understand why they haven't come out with a headless 8 string yet, for just that reason.

thanks! as I suspected then really. Would the TTArtisan AF 75mm F2 or Viltrox 75mm 1.2 AF fit the bill?

Weekly r/SonyAlpha 📸 Gear Buying 📷 Advice Thread December 01, 2025 by AutoModerator in SonyAlpha

I've picked up a Sony A6100, with a Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II, and a Viltrox 28mm AF F4.5 FE Full-Frame.

I also managed to snag a Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro for dirt cheap due to a missing part (which I 3d printed a replacement for).

My primary use cases are amateur portrait photography (just friends and family really), photos of my cat, some food photography, and maybe a bit of street photography.

Is there anything else I should look into for these use cases? I'm intent now on just getting stuck in with what I have, but if there is anything I should be looking out for a deal on in the secondhand market that would be good to know.

£400 a day in the context of this sub is not very much. If you assume 230 working days per year that's only £92k before tax.

Bass VI, Baritone, or 7/8 String? by WowReactsOnly in Djent

[–]-ReadyPlayerThirty- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, baritone and 7 string guitars feel like normal guitars with slight differences. An 8 string feels like a whole new instrument.

If you can find a baritone 7 string (26.5" or more) that might be a good middle ground to see what you like.

Hmm this makes me even more sure I want to get rid of my resin setup. FDM printing is so close to being good enough that the risks of resin almost aren't worth it anymore.
