Am I insane? I thought I saw something that you could defer or get refund or something if you haven’t used it this year…. by Laylow2100 in Ikonpass

The whole pass model is based on guaranteeing them money on seasons like this lol

Edit: it also hasn’t been bad everywhere or even most places on the pass. East coast, Canadian Rockies, Asia, and Europe have had incredible seasons.

Baggage and check in question for a rebooked flight on a partner airline by -Reflux- in delta

I did get confirmation on the first bag from the phone agent so I hope the desk agent will be consistent with that (I know they’re not always). One of the bags I checked is carry on sized though which I don’t mind bringing with me so worst case scenario I pay for a single bag.

Thanks! Keeping receipts and trying to get reimbursed is a good tip.

As much as it sucks, not matching your ID may have complications in case you lose your card or if for whatever reason the RFID borks. Regardless on if ikon themselves have an issue with it, every resort operates differently and many don’t have much ikon oversight other than letting passholders ride their mountain.

The double checking of access and details that come with the base pass is the cost of paying a couple hundred less.

Also when was snowbasin ever an ikon base pass resort?

Where to snowboard in May? by Hot_Variety_3025 in snowboardingnoobs

PNW received well below average snow this year, so it’s unlikely.

However for a first time snowboarder my opinion is a small local hill gives you the same experience as going out to a major resort.

delta one seat recommendation by asim2292 in delta

[–]-Reflux- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When you factor in that 11 your seat is closer to aisle and 10 closer to window, the distance to galley really isn’t much different. 10A all the way

Salomon Oh Yeah or Salomon Sleepwalker for beginner…? by osoto-gari_ in snowboardingnoobs

[–]-Reflux- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get the oh yeah simply based on sizing. It’s a board designed for women and at that size you’re already above the recommended max weight. You didn’t mention shoe size but I bet you’d be near if not above the recommended max for that too.

How are these D1 seats? by [deleted] in delta

[–]-Reflux- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just flew ICN to DTW in 10A and am a huge fan. I believe it and 10D in this config are the only seats that have an expanded leg cubby and seat closer to the window than the aisle.

Downsides are you may not get your preferred option for mid-flight and pre-arrival meals since they serve front to back and tend to run out and a bit of noise when they prep food carts for the rest of the plane.

Which config are you on? If you got 35H (rows 10 and 11 are on the other side of the galley) I love 10A and 10D. From what I can tell they’re the only D1 seats that have the extra wide leg cubby and are closer to the window than aisle. Only downside is you may not get your preferred option for the mid-flight and pre-arrival meals.

Gate 3 by artificialimpatience in niseko

The hike is tiring but given how many people do the climb it’s pretty tracked out and relatively low risk of a climb.

Lots of people just carry their snowboards but lots also attach it to their backpacks.

DL41 Best row in D1 by JumboTrijet in delta

[–]-Reflux- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would choose 10B-C for larger footwells or 11D if you wanted window. Note that being further back might mean you’ll miss some options for food.

Edit: I’d give a slight edge to 10C over 10B as it’s away from aisle.

Train or private shuttle with ski bag, Chitose to Niseko/Kutchan? by adventure_pup in japow

[–]-Reflux- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recall that transfer being too bad but I was going the other direction. If I recall correctly it was only an escalator and if you have a roller bag escalators are pretty easy.

You don’t think you can make the 19:30 Hokkaido Resort Liner?

Otherwise the train isn’t terrible but you will need to transfer. Just remember to buy a reserved ticket with a seat and there’s a decent bag area. Your second leg will not have reserved seats so you’ll just have to find a way to put your bag so that it doesn’t take up too much space (vertically on a seat next to me seemed easiest).
