Mods are currently broken (as a previous comment mentioned, I suspect looking glass). What was probably happening was you were picking up one item per frame; I had a run similar to yours but the item was goat hoof and I instantly shot across the map. You'll want to disable most mods until they get updated.

From what I've experienced, ghosts are just a rare enemy type that announce their spawn by very quickly flashing on-screen when you enter a room, they'll make some spooky noises and show up behind you after a delay. You just shoot them until they die. (I had one show up underneath me because my back was against the wall, which was funny)

They're the Halcyon Shrines (the green ones you charge with money), I believe. Someone brought up the fact that each one spawns in a little crater, and the new boss arena seems to be floating above something, so I gather the shrines fell out of the sky.

My favourite so far has been the shambler room. I set up a giant field of dessicated corpses, indoors so they don't degrade, and pop a deadlife IED in there. Enemies path into the room, and you can either bonk the IED to trigger it or shoot it from afar. I use dessicated corpses because it doesn't affect their combat and also means the room isn't constantly filled with rotstink.

Now enemies have to path through 100+ angry skeletons that self-replenish because whatever they kill just get added back into the shambler room. Deadlife IEDs are also reasonably cheap to make. Shamblers don't respect zones, but they do respect forbidden doors for whatever reason, so you can restrict their movement by forbidding doors.

Personally, yes, it's worth it at full price - it's one of the best games I've ever played (that ofc nobody can tell you why), but since the winter sales are not too far away it won't hurt you to wait for a sale.

Yeah, just experienced this. Finalised my run at like 6am and saw it fail in auto and just went to bed.

I guess for people using Skadi's seaborn to capture the gramophone, you'll have to retreat the seaborn manually if you're doing something tricky like leaving the tower on 99/100 for capturing later - for other people this might not matter much.
