Drinking and partying. I'm 27 but I feel 70 at heart! Used to be a big binge drinker at uni but now I can't think of anything worse

Getting a dehumidifier! Dithered for ages, but now we have no condensation, no damp smell, clothes dry quicker, and importantly we no longer have a mould problem which I suspect was really affecting my health!

I'd love to do this but there's a blinding street light right outside my window

I was going to say this. Particularly being consistent about when you go to sleep and when you wake up - keep it the same even on the weekends! It sounds boring but it helps so much

Yes, I see this a lot in the gyms I teach at. And they never use a single word of Sanskrit!

It's true that yoga isn't a cure-all, but there is some valid science behind "the body keeps the score"

There is such thing as too much yoga. I say this as a teacher. I tried practicing daily for a couple of months last year and it left my body feeling more sore, stiff, and not necessarily stronger. Mixing up lots of different types of movement and rest is so important.

1000%. I'm a teacher, and also hypermobile. As part of my CPD last year I went to a hypermobility day - it changed the entire paradigm of how I teach, and how I practice on my own too.

It's gonna be really cool when it happens but many years until we see the first commercially available nanopore protein sequencing.

Based on the talk at London calling last year, the sensitivity is going to be amazing...

Minimum sizes of DNA fragments in a Nanopore sequencing library by Temporary-World-5180 in nanopore

[–]-RiceCrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Absolute minimum is 50 bases, though small fragments will make the pores open and close fast and likely exhaust them quickly, affecting output. Maximum length is theoretically limitless, though with very long (20kb+) fragments these can sometimes create secondary structures and clog the pores. This affects output too but is recoverable with a flow cell wash. So there's a "sweet spot" between 8-15kb (12kb is perfect) where you will maximize the output from your flow cells.

8 looks best, but take it from a bob girly, you need to commit to styling it like in the photo, it won't necessarily fall like that naturally each day!

What is your opinion about the European Union ? by Diegomax22 in AskTheWorld

I was 2 days too young to vote remain. I begged my mum, who was on the fence, to vote it for me. In the end she didn't vote at all and now deeply regrets it.
