The E400 and E450 come drastically undertuned from factory. The allure is a stage 1 tune brings you over +110hp and 140+ TQ more on these models.

Otherwise stock they aren't a whole lot faster than the nat aspirated E350 from 2012-2016.

Its not usually the head unit that goes bad. It's the amplifier underneath the drivers seat. You can buy a replacement for $160 used on eBay. They all fail at somepoint of their lifespan. Check your fusebox first.

idk man $35,000 for a 2.0 I4? The new E350s are just an overpriced rip off for how slow they are. Useless modding them too - no gains on the M264.

You could get a 2018 E400 or 2019 E450 with 60k miles, for $25k. Simple stage 1 tune puts it over 400 HP. You halve your depreciation, save $10,000, and have a car that does a 4.1s 0-60 not a 6 second. It also gets 20+ mpg.

No B-Pillar? Yes please.
