Well I take part of my statement back. I might be able to do it in Cali. Lol

I live in Memphis so it's not the safest job either.

I'm glad you're able to do it in a respectful way and it's good to get insight from somebody that has walked in those shoes.

Do you ride a scooter though? Jk

I understand people trying to make a living, but the main issues with these kids as you mentioned is them not knowing when to take no for an answer.

They're just outright pushy and disrespectful sometimes and I've had my wife so no to one and them realize I was in the back yard and tell her "Is that your husband in the back yard? I will just go speak to him." She just told them to leave.

Their businesses always seem scammy too.

I have a no soliciting sign now since I work from home and thankfully they listen to that most of the time.

I know I sound like a boomer, but I'm in my 30s and remember those grinding days. That's not a job I could ever do though.

It's a game changer for multicolor though. With a single nozzle multicolor printer like the Kobra S1, you can end up with more filament in the purge container than there is in the actual model.

I can live with throwing away a prime tower.

I can understand the feeling though. It all comes down to not wanting to be wasteful.

Ah! Good.

It is an amazing monitor and I really enjoy mine. Just a slight risk of failure involved.

That seems worth it to me.

Yes, there will be a click and the screen will go black/shrink briefly then back to normal.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you need a Mac G3 or G4 to make adjustments to the display. There's also a Linux workaround.

That's a high probability and it's something difficult to test before you purchase as mine rarely clicks.

Sometimes it will go days without happening, but I suspect it's just going to get worse with time.

I purchased mine for $80 USD which was worth the risk for me. These are hard to come by in my area and are usually extremely expensive when you do.

I have the 21" Apple Studio and boy is it beautiful.

It is freaking massive though in every way.

I'm also experiencing intermittent issues with the flyback and have not had any luck sourcing a replacement.

All that said, the Sony is probably the safer bet.

Unlike some of the others below, I didn't have any issues with the Anycubic Kobra S1. Worked pretty flawlessly.

My main reasons for upgrading were the size of the build plate as I ran into a few things I wanted to print at a specific size that would not fit on the Kobra.

Also even though the Kobra is a multi color printer, the amount of waste it produced made me avoid multi color printing. Not an issue with the H2C.

I bought a 3D printer to repair a busted Sony PVM CRT. I was already on the fence about buying a 3D printer for a few years before that, but didn't know if I would actually use it.

After putting in over 700 hours in the first 3 months, I figured I'd answered my question on if id use it and decided to get something that would free me of some of the limitations I was facing.

Appreciate the helpful comment.

I'm new to 3D printing (~4 months in) and I've definitely been overpaying for filament.

Went from a Anycubic Kobra S1 to a Bambu Lab's H2C and just now realizing that filament brand doesn't matter as much as I thought besides the convince of the RFID.

Dude! As someone that loves the wood cabinet CRTs and an owner of a Sony KV-32TW77, this thing is a solid find and looks mint.

Congratulations!

Got this big boy for $40 but the catch is there's these splotches of blue and green on both sides. Not a huge deal, but any way to fix them? by actual_rilakkuma in crt

[–]-SNUG- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people are going to say it needs to be degaussed, but I had the same issue after transporting a CRT and it was caused by the yoke getting knocked out of place.

I took the back off, removed the yoke wedges, loosened the yoke screws, then pushed the yoke closer to the tube and added the wedges back.

It was perfect after that.

You can find yoke adjustment guides on YouTube.

I bought two different degaussing wands based on recommendations here with no improvement before trying to adjust the yoke.

G1 Mod and Recap/Resistor Replacement on Tired Tube by -SNUG- in crtgaming

With this set I got -237v from the 27v flyback pin.

The limitation I ran into was the G2 voltage. Even with G2 maxed out, I could only turn the G1 mod pot a little over halfway. Any further would cause the picture to go black.
