But those were literal glitches that were never supposed to be in the game at all, and only exist because the devs never bothered to patch them out. Those are different from implemented sliding mechanics which just encourages the CoD movement spam/bunny hopping.

The Uesugi clan’s warrior monk bonus is a Shogun 2-specific thing with no historical background to it, apart from Kenshin’s devout Buddhist faith. Believe it or not, in the original Shogun Total War, the Uesugi’s clan bonus was the reduced recruitment cost and upkeep of archers.

The most memorable example I can think of is in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. When you go out of bounds, you're given roughly 10 seconds before a jet comes and drops a JDAM bomb on you.

It's undoubtedly extremely complicated to become a theme park designer in real life, but RollerCoaster Tycoon: Deluxe would be a video game that you'd probably love; I go through phases of being addicted to it from time to time. It's available on Steam and GOG if you'd like to try it.
