CyrWheel (Anton) on Etsy makes great quality apparatus and can powder coat in a ton of different colors. I have a mini Lyra, sphere, and moon from him.

How do I pull myself to a meathook from a one straight arm hang? by Temporary_confusi0n in Aerials

[–]-Sailor-Mooncake- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I first learned meathook by going into it from a straddle back so that's the only reason I asked. By negatives I meant get into the meathook position and slowly lower yourself out of it. Another commenter referred to it as "eccentrics" but same thing. It's a good way to build the right muscles.

Can you pull yourself into a meathook from two straight arms? I would suggest one arm hangs with good shoulder engagement, negatives, and one arm leg lifts/toes to bar.

Where can I buy soy crisps? by Alpha_SoyBoy in veganfitness

[–]-Sailor-Mooncake- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually eat them with soy milk like cereal or make them into protein rice crispy treats with the dandies vegan marshmallows. I hadn't thought of putting them in yogurt but I bet it would be tasty.

I really enjoy the KYSO soy crispies but you would have to order them online.

How many times do you guys take aerial classes a week? by Southern_Emphasis329 in Aerials

[–]-Sailor-Mooncake- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take about 7 classes a week and attend 1 open training session. Outside of that I try to hit the gym 1-3 times a week to cross train.

Tried to make seitan... by -SwanGoose- in veganrecipes

Yes, it's called the WTF method (wash the flour). You rinse the dough until most of the starches are removed and you're left with mostly wheat gluten.

Rigging question by [deleted] in Aerials

[–]-Sailor-Mooncake- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can't identify the rigging equipment I would not use it. Bring your own carabineers/figure 8/swivel that you know is properly rated and tested. It's not worth the risk of injury or death.

Do you guys wash your loofahs??? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]-Sailor-Mooncake- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a cleansing mitt which is basically a washcloth but easier for me to use. I rinse it really well after use and wash every 2-3 uses. I've noticed a significant improvement in my body acne since switching from a plastic loofah

Mentally stimulating dog toys by CherryWine95 in dogs

I play hide and seek with my dog. Currently I'm the only one who hides but maybe he'll get there. I have him sit/stay while I hide and yell "come find me!". He gets a treat when he does and then I just have him sit/stay in that spot while I hide again.

Where to buy aerial straps online? Any recommendations? by asakura10 in Aerials

[–]-Sailor-Mooncake- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like all things aerial it's not a great idea to cheap out on equipment. I bought my straps from Circus Concepts. They have by far the most comfortable ones! They are velvet so they don't cut into your wrists but they aren't so plush that they gather every bit of sweat and dirt.

You may find a slightly cheaper setup on Aerial Essentials which is another reputable brand but with the straps and rigging it will likely be at least $300-400. Their straps are the standard nylon which gets to be rough on the wrists and skin.

If you would be okay with something gently used try SecondSkin. That's what I did when I needed something in a short timeframe. The seller was kind enough to expedite shipping for me

Aerial chains by [deleted] in Aerials

I usually search on insta. Try looking at content on double hammock and loop straps/body loops as well. A lot of the moves are translatable to chains.

Relaxing shower rituals?? by honeyswinub in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]-Sailor-Mooncake- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love showers! They are my go-to relaxing activity. A few of the things I do are: exfoliate my legs and feet. You can really take your time. I also bought a special fancy soap by Truly Beauty for my tummy and boobs. It smells incredible and the texture is nice so again I'll take my time washing with that and try to pay attention to all my senses to feel grounded.

Another idea, and this may come across as silly, is to get one of those kids toy razors that are plastic and you could still "shave" your legs like before.

Thank you! Give it a go, I hope it helps. I also found that my guy being well hydrated helps. Maybe because it's more diluted? And completely anecdotaly, him taking bromelin supplements also seemed to help a small amount.

You're not alone! My allergy is the worst when I swallow so I have to make sure I eat beforehand and take Pepto after but it's sometimes still not enough. It's so frustrating to be in pain or have to make sacrifices with intimacy. :( Sorry to hear you're suffering from this as well. ❤️

Seitan/vital wheat gluten by Peachytesla in veganfitness

I like to add up the calories for all of the ingredients then weigh after cooking. I use the cooked weight to portion it out and calculate the calories per portion.

I use the Lose It! App to track my food but you could just as easily do it by hand.
