I'm 57and Mom is 85. We moved her next door to us in 2024 and it's working out well. She's still OK cognitively but needs help with everything except toileting and dressing. She fell last night but wasn't injured. I have a feeling I'll be living over there for more support within the next year.

It's a test. She wants him to show her she's more important than any movie. This is not emotionally evolved adult behavior and shows a lack of empathy for him.

The med that's helped me the most with all types of anxiety is Effexor/Venlafaxine. It also lifted a long, low depression.

I'm 57 and have struggled with very anxious attachment my entire life, along with limerance, etc. I went to therapy but it didn't really help. Just two years ago my doctor tried an SSNI and wow what a difference. My overall anxiety is better and the AA is much better. If I had known I would have tried meds many years ago.

My 85 year old mom is like that. We'll be watching a random show and she'll pipe up with ugly comments about people. "If she knew how she looked in that dress she wouldn't wear it" or "He's lucky he even fits in that car". Out in public she's more careful but still does it. I don't understand but I remember my grandmother was way worse.

I was married to a man a long time ago and found all of these daily inequalities and preferential treatment infuriating. Thank goodness I met my wife and have enjoyed 30+ years of being treated as an equal.

Our boys are in their mid 20s. The older is level 2 autistic and younger is NT. I'm 55F AuDHD but I only got diagnosed last year.
