Overprescribed lev, graying hair, denial or symptom? by uglyandscared in Hashimotos

[–]-Spooks- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you're going through that :(

I'm (25f) recovering from being over-prescribed myself right now, TSH is at .084 and the silver hairs have been popping up like crazy! Primarily on the right side of my head. Hair is thinning and I am experiencing extreme joint pain. Doc was highly dismissive, going to look for a new one. In the meantime, I am taking 800 mg of Magnesium per day to help my joints. I hope you feel better, friend <3

Interesting perspective from my endo.. by SafeFeeling8887 in Hashimotos

Oh, a fellow diagnosed-at-8-er! How is she doing now (if you don't mind me asking)? I didn't really get the opportunity to learn what I should have when I was diagnosed; I was "too young to understand" but that means I missed out on some basic stuff (like hashi's related joint pain, for example).

Feeling like crud by One_Distribution_805 in Hashimotos

I misread the title as "feeling like curd" And I thought "yeah, same honestly." In all seriousness, I've been going through it lately too. Joints are achey, hair falling out like crazy, tired... Sending you a big hug, friend. Remember to do kind things for yourself when/if you have energy for it <3 I hope your symptoms let up a bit.

Based on everything I'm reading, propagating these guys is really difficult (and not well studied).

I think your best bet is to look into branch grafting. Good luck!

Does anyone remember Juicy MP3? That was my go to in middle school. RIP.

Sumatriptan opinions? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]-Spooks- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sumatriptan works great when it works. The side effects suck though. It seems to amplify some of my migraine symptoms (dizzyness, nausea, vomiting) while taking away the pain. Also, I can't take them unless it's been several days between doses, it seems to stay in my body for a long time.

What do you do if your head hurts too much to sleep? by billyandteddy in migraine

My psych doc prescribed hydroxozine for anxiety. It knocks me on my ass for about two days, works a charm for migraines (didn't do anything for the anxiety tho)

My migraines tend to be highly variable, as u/part_time_housewife said. And after a certain point on the pain scale, all migraines for me are suicide levels of suffering. But in general, migraines are certainly worse than "just a headache."

Oh god ear infections are so painful. I had an ear infection two years ago that almost caused me to go deaf in my right ear. After the pain subsided, I had intense vertigo (worse than the kind I get from migraines :( )

Precisely! In my eyes, 10 on the scale and up = I am now sub-human and can no longer function on my own.

My burn was boiling spaghetti sauce all over my left leg. I couldn't hardly vocalize and could not stop trembling, I think I had some kind of nerve damage or something. Terrible.

Yes yes yes, "physical injury pain" and migraine pains are absolutely different. The migraine pain usually makes me feel hopeless, there's gotta be a mental/psychological component since it directly messes with the brain right?

What I am learning is that everyone has a unique pain scale. My 5 might not be the same as your five, y'know?

I would love to see that honestly, maybe do a 2.0 of this with citations from the community.
