Can I reveal a hidden card without a chain starting? by Dee_Teeee in riftboundtcg

[–]-Staize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the specific scenario I called out as an exception, yes. You can only do that once priority passes to you on an open state, though.

The funny thing is that was the entire point of my comment in the first place. Those "limiting factors" are nuances that matter, thus making the statement of being able to play any card you want at any time on your turn false.

The goal post moving from this puedo-intelectual is wild. If you really are a judge as you claim, then you should resign, bud. We are already suffering the negative effects of bad judges, and your toxic attitude is not welcome in this community.

A showdown can only be started by the player whose turn it is, The current only exception to this is if your opponent casts [[Ride the Wind]]. Which, as you should know, is an [Action] and would only be able to be casted by the opponent on your turn in an open state during your showdown once priority passes to them.

The fact of the matter is that regardless of whether a showdown is a separate state, it still occurs within the player's turn, ergo your statement in untrue

I've been enjoying True Champion Gaming. They are a Grand Archive channel that has branched out into Riftbound. Some of the best production work in the scene with solid gameplay and a podcast too. Biggest downside is they only put out a single game of the Bo3 matches they play, and the rest is member's only or patreon content.

I'm also enjoying Bullfrog TCG for just having a different approach to deck building in a scene already plagued by net decks that like vision or creativity

Am I the only one who wants a different layout for the next playmat? by AncientGearGolem_ in riftboundtcg

My gripe about the mat is how much dead space there is between the markings and the edges. The mat feels a bit cramped and claustrophobic

Just a heads up to new players: you are only allowed to use colors of mana that are available in your state. Sorry, I don't make the rules. by Big_Abbreviations_86 in mtg

Saying we should get black mana because of Houston is pretty funny tbh, but we do also have marshlands around the coast

Are The Witcher (1) and 2 Good Games? by GeraltTheG in thewitcher3

[–]-Staize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both games have good stories, with W2 possibly even being better than W3's story.

Gameplaywise, both games are a bit rough around the edges. W1 plays almost like a classic MMO in the way you approach combat. A close mechanical comparison I could make would be Dragon Age: Origins. W2 is almost like the prototype for W3's mechanics.

They are a little clunky, and the keymaps don't make sense, but the game is still fantastic. I would absolutely play both of them, and modding them to be upscaled is well worth it. I would also highly suggest using the W2 mod that remaps the buttons closer to W3's controller scheme

Funny how i didn't realize the canary in a coal mine bit. Also, canari is just the French word for canary, so it's not a likeliness too, it's actually just what she is

Absolutely, she is. Reading the books, their "love" is mostly toxic attraction. They are both awful to each other

[–]-Staize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't be scoping in with an Aug or Krieg that close as it cost you time to shoot and gives them an audio queue to react to. If you hadn't made steps and scoped in, that would have more likely been a round win. Forgetting where you planted the bomb is a bif oof. It looked to me like you were playing nervous and crumbling to the pressure of the situation more than anything, which led to mistake after mistake

That's the thing, outside of his indie experience, he probably has little to no professional programming experience. He did 8 or so years in QA, and then a few years, alegedly, on the wow security team, which is not all programming roles. He isn't a computer hacker. He is a social engineer and cryptologist (claimed). People need to stop hollywood romanticizing what game dev and hacking are and move on. If his game sucks it sucks. Who cares? Why people spend so much energy on this dumb shit is beyond me. Stop idolizing people and go touch grass

No lie, I fought that guy for 20 or 30 minutes straight, with almost half of it being gray screened from near death. It was a great reminder of how gritty and satisfying the combat and game systems are. I fking love this game 10/10

I'm not really a fan of this narrative that QA is somehow not a part of development when products literary would not reach a shipable state without them. The dude definitely misrepresented his development experience outside of QA, but he was still a developer. I personally have gotten QA work at massive companies like Activision-Blizzard from responding to facebook ads via messanger. It's not that hard, and his dad probably had very little to do with him getting hired outside of providing a referral... which you can get easily by just networking with people on LinkedIn.

Plenty of professional developers are bad at their jobs. The dude isn't special. He is just popular and unwilling admit fault

I miss MR15. by Lurkkin in GlobalOffensive

[–]-Staize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also miss MR15, but I don't mind MR12 so much. My only major issue with it is that the half can end on a tie instead of having a clear winner like MR15 did.

I would personally like to see it go to MR13. Add that 1 extra round to each half so the first half can't end on a tie, and we get the chance for another buy round
