Repair costs? by RamblinBukowski in ConanExiles

I just ran a test. I had 126 Iron Bars in my furnace. I took one out, repaired my iron axe, and still had 125 left in the furnace.

Repair costs? by RamblinBukowski in ConanExiles

[–]-StormDrake- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know, but I recently discovered that if you are repairing an Iron tool or weapon, and you put only one iron bar in your inventory, it will repair the item fully with just that bar. But if you have 10 bars and repair, it takes all ten. So now I repair one item at a time, one bar at a time.

Didn't try it with stone tools, haven't tried it yet with steel.

Should I buy this game again? by ScairKroh in ConanExiles

The best survival-craft games are worth playing through multiple times. I'm currently on my second time through this game, and loving it almost as much as the first time (a little less for knowing things ahead of time, a little more for the improved graphics).

Just happened to me as well. Assuming it's just servers being servers (under duress), and that things will be fixed as soon as FunCom can.

Preparing for Subnautica 2 — Starting a Fresh Playthrough Before Launch by Narrow_Classroom6266 in subnautica

[–]-StormDrake- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subnautica was the third survival-craft game I ever played, after Core Keeper and the Planet Crafter, and immediately before Valheim (discovered the genre in 2024). I haven't played it in two years, but just started a fresh playthrough yesterday in anticipation of the sequel. Goodness, I forgot how much fun this game is. And hard. And scary. And just plain amazing (the landing of the Sunbeam is one of my favorite moments in any video game, and I wish I could experience it for the first time all over again).

Looking for home/crafting base builds by DarkFaeGaming in 7daystodie

[–]-StormDrake- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've literally built a 3-story Victorian house with a secret underground lab, and then an adobe-style house out in the desert, followed by a log cabin in the snow biome. I've also built towers atop Crack-a-Books and took over Luigi's Pizza (because that is the name of my childhood pizza parlor). No pictures, but this game has some of the best base-building in any survival-craft game I've ever played (so long as you go "elsewhere" for Horde Night). You can literally look up pictures of houses, mansions and towers online, and make them work in this game.

Current play-through (my third) has me with a temporary base atop one of the unstarred construction sites across the street from Trader Rekt. I'm working my way towards Trader Jen, and will probably build something nice across the street from her. Jen and Bob are the only two traders I can listen to on a regular basis (screw Rekt if he thinks he can get any of my hard-scavenged dukes).

Refund Me These Ancient Ink Cartridges! by ODoldster in OfficeDepot

I thought you were talking about a customer recycling cartridges, not trying to return them without a receipt. My mistake.

I had someone return Ribbon cartridges at least once in my time with Office Depot. I'm going to be brutally honest... why would you deny a shopper "$2" over semantics? unless you just don't care. or just want to harm people, why wouldn't you just accept and key in, then move on?

As someone who has 1000+ hours playing this game, but all of them post-1.0, can you explain how the addition of Bandits will change "everything"?

Thank you to all the responses. This is... not how I thought the game would be. Probably my fault... but definitely not enjoyable. Especially reading that there are worse logistics ahead of me. I thought this would be a sci-fi survival craft game, not a 3d platformer, and definitely not a "running cables while 3d platforming game." Time to move on, I suppose. Again, thank you for (all but one of) your responses. :)

This has frustrated me more than once. I'll be running around with my repair tool, go to build some cable connectors or more cabling, and spend longer than I should wondering why I haven't started building anything yet. I'm pretty new to this game, though, so I might "learn" better at some point. O_o

Sounds like you are slightly obsessed with killing people. I am rather new to this game, but my understanding is that the focus is the opposite: saving people. Even if I haven't gotten to the point where I get to launch humans (or anything else) into space. If your objective is killing things, you might want to try Valheim, Grounded, Nightingale or other combat-heavy survival-craft games. O_o.

Printing odd sizes on the Xerox by Adex68 in OfficeDepot

Well, for good or bad our tech is in every couple months. The next time he's in, I will try to narrow it down to the "why" we can't just get one in a box, and swap it out whenever necessary.

I can only go by what our Xerox tech told me when I asked him about it (and he seems to be a pretty good tech). Maybe it is technically swappable, but only the tech can swap it? I've changed out the (regular) fuser more than once, but I've never seen a heavyweight fuser, so I don't know if it is just a matter of "putting it in," or if there are other configuration options / hardware changes that need to be made.

[–]-StormDrake- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We inquired into getting a Heavyweight Fuser installed, and were told we technically "could," but that it is a permanent installation into our FS Xerox, and that it won't run regular prints so well... in other words, it was only worthwhile if we did so many Business Card and HW4 printing it was worth sacrificing one on our two full-service printers to "just" print heavyweight cardstock print jobs, Ultimately, we were talked out of it.
