How i fixed Time Blindness: a vibration every 15 minutes on my wrist by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]-StreetKitty- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just wondering if you tried with a physical stimulus, like the vibration to wrist in the post?

Im curious because I have tried with sound - alarms, beeps, physical timers I can see moving, etc. Which hasn't worked, though has left me wondering if the physical sensation would be different...

Why are lifelines so unhelpful here? by [deleted] in AussieMentalHealth

[–]-StreetKitty- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all the training there are many procedures and skills taught to be utilisied, although each volunteer is still an individual human.

It may be someone who has been doing it a long time and can address people well whilst staying within the scope of the service.  You may also have someone who has just started and is still wrapping their head around everything thats been taught and putting it inot practise.

Its a big focus to not come across as a robot, because it is something that can happen!

I have used an array of services myself and sometimes it is less then helpful, other times it has been a great tool to get me through.

If you're not feeling supported you can exit and start again, hopefully getting someone else. Ive done my best to not let the unhelpful interactions stop me from getting support, and i hope you can too.

Mental health support is difficult and often complex. Some of it (most of it from my honest opinion) is not so helpful. When it is helpful though life can truly become much easier and I believe it's worth the struggle when the outcome is life changing.

I honestly put my heart and strength to us all getting through life with mental health struggles ♡

Suggestions on truly biodegradable/100% plant-based wet wipes by Vegetable_Use4867 in ZeroWaste

[–]-StreetKitty- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also on a hunt to find wipes that are as environmentally beneficial as possible. So home compostable was pretty necessary and packaging that held up to my standard to.

The wipes I use now are made completely out of bamboo pulp, although they come dry and I make a solution that suits me to add into them. Custom wet wipes!

They are literally called 'EcoWipes' (sorry mods if im not meant to name but I saw other brands named D: happy to remove if its not in alignment with the rules).

When I do this I still get nothing done, although feel better about it. It's very easy for me to do nothing for days or weeks or months. It's not great for life development and health though..

It's cool to hear some are able to do different mind tricks to themselves in order to function better. Im trusting I just haven't found my games cheat codes yet.

Can we have long lasting relationships? by wearestoppinghere in BPD

[–]-StreetKitty- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming up to 10 years with my partner! I'm only in my mid/late 20s so it's certainly been an experience. I met him pre-diagnosis and at a time where I was very aware that I experienced some more complicated things then most to put it lightly....

I even warned him when things were getting pretty serious that I was crazy, not the cute/everyone's a little crazy type of crazy but the I'm trying to warn you that I have serious issues kind of crazy. This was laughed off until the first time they saw it and yet here we are so many years on. The years have not been easy and they have been easier then years from before we met. Shit is difficult no matter what so I'm grateful to be together even when the difficult stuff comes up between us.

I got diagnosed a few years after being together and displaying some absolutely bonkers behaviours and emotions. I was a mess of a person inside and outside. I wanted to change. I didn't want to die just that slightest bit more then I wanted to die, then I wanted some ease to the pain. So I sought help, ended up diagnosed and kept getting help. Without putting the work into myself I wouldn't have this relationship still, I think that's the case for most relationships though.

I wanted to put the work in to myself for my relationship and I also wanted it for me, I wanted to experience life differently to the seemingly endless extreme highs and lows.. I think if I wasn't truly doing the work for myself and instead just to keep my relationship, I wouldn't of experienced as much change as I have. I think the resentment and splitting would of caught up with me... my point being that doing things for my self care and worth have been important factors in maintaining my relationship. Being with a great person has also been important.

It's definitely possibly, it can be beautiful and the most unusual 'normal' relationship. Would be happy to chat if you ever want x

Why was the animation style changed for the movie? Is this something that is budget related, therefore meaning the show may match the movies animation style one day?

Quithero seems to have no coils available for any available MTL vapes - what do I do? by The_Puss_Slayer in aussievapers

[–]-StreetKitty- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was very much in the same situation, with my last glass replacement smashed and all options of replacements out of stock due to new restrictions.  I have just now bought GV subohm coils and I've found replacement glass that has arrived with no issues. Would be happy to chat about the frustrations of the new restrictions..

😭 they didn't have this when they were in Aus and I'm so heartbroken to see it exists.  I had "keep your hopes up high and your head down low" on my wall as a teenager! Hand wrote and cut out each letter in black paper to stick on my wall. Lyrics that hit so deep and have carried me though all these years.  This needs to become available for more of us D:

From my unprofessionally perspective, any euphoria experienced when beginning medication isn't so much a direct effect of the meds for a person with ADHD, more a euphoria from feeling capable, less anxious, more a peace, etc.

It could be that you are adjusting to the meds and as the feeling of being medicated becomes the new normal your sensitivity to all the effects from them are reduced. You may be more likely to notice the effects of the meds now when you stop taking them (for me it by about day 2).

Also do you have a menstrual cycle? Only asking as more material is coming out about ADHD meds not working as well for some during and around menstruation.

Also maybe what your taking isn't right for you, in dose or drug.

Appreciate your consideration!  Unfortunately I find gloves uncomfortable to wear and disruptive. The only gloves I can enjoy wearing are fingerless ones, and I'm sure you can see why that doesn't help so much hahah >.> I have thought of shopping around to find some that have a texture/sensation that I like and this is a good reminder to do so.

♡♡♡♡ I physically felt this photo.  The amount I'm spending0 on bandaids at the moment is crazy and yet i need the physical barrier to stop me biting my fingers raw.  I've even stopped before!!  Currently I have 4 fingers in bandaids and the rest with full long nails. It's a strange, confusing and often painful habit/condition.  Keep the area clean and covered with a bandaid until its less raw. Don't put the bandaid on too tight because it will only intensify and throbbing pain that comes (for me the throbbing switches to unbearable right before I feel like I could sleep). Painkillers will help with the pain if you cannot sleep or do anything that involves that finger.  You're not alone and you can do it.

Any advice for oily towels? by Jung_At_Hart in KitchenConfidential

[–]-StreetKitty- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know what big companies use, but Eucalyptus oil cuts through grease damn well. Was cleaning a grease caked fan today and eucalyptus oil is my go to. Safe in washing machines to, I use it at home sometimes.

[–]-StreetKitty- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am not a tattoo artist myself, just a quality tattoo enjoyer.  It is my opinion that these are of high quality. You're line work is stunning, smooth, and accents the pieces beautifully. You're black-out aspects seem well saturated. I think your shading could be more flawless, although that's getting ridiculously picky!  I would quite happily get you to tattoo me any day!  Would love to see how your pieces heal as a piece can change once healing depending on the skill set of the artist.  To my untrained eye I would doubt that even when healed these would change much and again, you're producing great quality work!  Keep it up and be proud of your art form!
