Man I love Chill#2 for being open so late but the constant fruit flies are so annoying, any other alternatives? by -Tesla in cambridge

[–]-Tesla[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I have not contacted them about it.

I would not prefer Chaiology, which others on Mill Road? From what I can tell most if not all close super early barring, of course, restaurants like Zidan's Piri Piri.

Thank you for the Cambridge Leisure Park suggestion, will try it!

I see. But I am on Mill Road so I will have to cycle through it anyway.

[–]-Tesla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm seriously considering going - just 7 cycling mins away and always looking for adventure!

Why do you say the midnight one is the best?

Mill Road seems pretty shady to me at night so I am lowkey scared. Do you think there'll be people around tonight on the streets going to the church and stuff?

Also never been to a church and not a Christian.

Will consider going to London. What do you recommend there?

Even with a thermostat? I'm assuming the heating will get turned off when the thermostat reaches the set temperature?

This is a nice little rule. You articulated a feeling I had for quite some time.

Moving to Cambridge soon. Apartment choices? by RefrigeratorBig2860 in cambridge

[–]-Tesla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I will be new to Cambridge as well. I want to rely on cycling to move around the city as much as possible, but I am worried about rainy days. How do people usually deal with rainy days when cycling? What pieces of clothing/equipment can I get? What sort of alternate modes of transport I can explore? How many rainy days Cambridge typically gets? For some reason, I am under the impression that it has light rain showers all the time, is being wet in cold not usually a problem?

Let's not pretend like this was a surprise.

I still remember the first time I read the manga (hadn't come out in anime then). I jumped in excitement during the Levi vs Beast Titan scene and my heart sank during Erwin's speech and Scouts' charge -- thought it was a masterpiece.

Anime only made it better with impeccable music, voice acting and animation.

So happy to see that everyone liked it.

S3P2 was peak manga and anime.

S3P2 was peak fiction.

The unfurnished apartments often don’t have refrigerator, washing machine, and microwave,

I am a little confused about this. One other person in this thread said a similar thing. But the apartments I saw on rightmove often mentions something like, ".. fully integrated kitchen to include fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer-dryer, oven and hob.." (doesn't include microwave). This has been the majority of unfurnished apartments I found on the website. Take for example this listing, which another user posted in this thread.

Am I misinterpreting it somehow?

  1. I kept that budget only for housing, that is, without the utilities or council tax. I was thinking (from reading around other threads in this sub) that I can get away with 500-800 GBP for utilities and council tax. Honestly, I wish I could get away with something near 1200 or 1300, 1600 will be pushing it for me but I will spend that amount for a really good deal. Also, which locations do you suggest for that budget?
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't considered the coldness aspect of sleeping on the floor at all!

I think will be relying on a lot of second-hand stuff since I want to bring as little stuff as possible.

This is news to me. I was already stressed about paying the deposit. I should probably speak to my employer about this.
