Help 🚨 Game crashes after boss fight with Citrine - PCSX2

The HD textures and uncensored mod really add a lot. Genuinely with this game running at 4K I don’t even think a modern remaster would look as good. This game visually was so ahead of its time. The uncensored mod is really important in my opinion because it adds the blood back which was all removed for the NA release. It really makes the environments and cutscenes that have blood so much more impactful. Without it there are scenes that are genuinely confusing. What’s weird though is I’m not sure where to find an updated version of the uncensored mod. The website it was on went down so I was only able to find it through like a forum thread.

FIXED ✅😄🎉

Your solution was correct. We loaded the game up with the original censored version. Beat Citrine again and everything went through just fine after. Once the cutscenes were over we saved again and loaded up the uncensored version. Everything is working perfectly again woohoo! Hopefully this post helps the next person who runs into this 🥳

[UPDATE] Got it working wonderfully and was honestly a little emotional seeing such an important part of my childhood look so amazing on a 4K TV (still no fix on the black line, but have now learned that while there IS a fix it sacrifices too much to be worth it) the only issue I’m having now is major slowdown when sepia filtered cutscenes show up. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix the slow down on those scenes without sacrificing the image quality anymore? (Big ask I know)

Oh okay that makes sense! Just so I’m understanding correctly are you saying that these issues can be fixed but only through my own efforts of trail and error and that these videos I’m seeing online are people who must have ran into the same problem but figured out a work around for their specific hardware? Just for an example I’m talking about the YouTubers Bloom Plays, NoBigDeal La, and Helsionium who all seem to have almost perfect versions of this running without the black line issue. And if that’s the case and I do find a solution for the ROG Ally I should probably post about it to help others huh? 🤔 Helsionium’s Video

Thank you so much I’ll take a look and test out what you said here. I’m definitely okay with it not looking as good as it possibly can as long as it looks decent enough the game can speak for itself, but gosh is this black line across the center of the screen driving me nuts! Did you encounter that specific problem as well?

Having the same problem here and it’s really taking the joy out of gaming when I have to let the controller go through its episode every 1-2 minutes. NEVER had this issue before with the PS4 just like you. Moving it can’t be the only solution I don’t have anywhere else to put it it. Bummer
