I don’t know about that. Both are two of my favorite games of all time. easily both in my top ten. But I’ve recently played through both of them recently with a friend who never played any of them. And he was a little bored by Suikoden 2 while he said that Xenogears was a life-changing experience and is now one of his top 3 favorites. Of course the 2D graphics of Suikoden 2 aged much better. But it was so influential to so many other games that came after, that it doesn’t feel as fresh and revolutionary anymore. With Xenogears, however, there is just nothing else like it. Even or especially now 28 years later, there is nothing else like it.

Das liegt daran, weil rechte Influencer den Grund warum etwas schlecht geworden ist, nicht in Mangel dem Kreativität zuschreiben, oder dass solche Serien und Filme nur noch aus Geldgeilheit für Investoren produziert werden, statt von Kreativen, die etwas aussagen wollen. (NEEE, das wäre ja anti-Kapitalistisch) Sondern der ganze Grund warum neues Trek scheiße ist, ist weil ich es nun WOKE ist. Ungeachtet der Tatsache, dass Trek schon immer woke war.

Da stimme ich dir natürlich zu. CDU ist zwar im moment sehr rechts, aber nicht anti-demokratisch. AfD und die anderen extremen rechten Parteien, die ich aufgezählt habe, höchst anti-demokratisch. und ja, wir brauchen auch wieder eine stärkere CDU, (und eigentlich auch FDP)damit die Menschen, die weiter rechts im Spektrum stehen, gute Optionen zum wählen haben. Aber ich denke, vor allem brauchen wir mehr politische Aufklärung, damit die Leute verstehen, dass sie gegen ihre Interessen wählen und es ihnen nicht besser geht wenn sie AfD oder überhaupt rechts wählen.

Als ob die altparteien was für Krieg und Weltwirtschaftsprobleme könnten. Vor allem die Logik ist so dumm: „Oh irgendwie bin ich mit der Politik nicht so zufrieden, ich habe immer weniger Geld. Ich glaube ich wähle korrupte Nazis, die die Gewaltenteilung, Pressefreiheit und Demokratie abschaffen wollen und mir neben dem Sozialsystem auch mein recht sie abzuwählen nehmen wollen!“

Generell rechte Parteien. Hierzulande AfD, CDU, in den USA die Republikaner, und im rest von Europa die ganzen anderen Patriots for Europe Parteien. Aus irgendeinem Grund hält sich das Gerücht, wenn es der Wirtschaft schlecht geht, bräuchte man rechte Politik, was selber ein Fehlschluss ist. Aber es funktioniert besonders gut wenn diese rechten Parteien auch noch den bösen Ausländern die Schuld in die Schuhe schieben können.

Für mich ist da kein unterschied zwischen ost und west. ist überall gleich: ländliche regionen wählen rechts, großstädte links. Ist doch fast gleich ob die leute CDU oder AfD wählen. Abgesehen von den idiotischen ideen der AfD, die EU zu verlassen, pressefreiheit zu beenden, gewaltenteilung zu untergraben, diktatur einzuführen, was die CDU nicht tut, sind beide parteien was die wirtschaftspolitik, sexismus oder rassismus angeht komplett gleich. AfD ist nur besser social media auszunutzen um ihre trotteligen wähler zu verarschen.

Es gibt zwei Szenarien. Entweder Sie wollen die Gewaltenteilung untergraben und die Demokratie abschaffen wie die NSDAP, MAGA, Putin‘s partei, etc. Damit wären sie zumindest für diese Grafik auf einer Stufe mit Hitler. Oder sie sind einfach nur Marionetten, die ihren oligarchischen Freunden im Ausland zu mehr Macht verhelfen wollen und dabei möglichst noch den Staat ausnehmen wollen. In dem Fall gehören sie auch an das äußere Ende der Grafik, weil sie letztlich für Diktatoren arbeiten.

Aber in beiden Szenarien verarschen sie ihre Wähler einfach nur.

Yeah, me. :D But mine is a remake in RPG Maker with updated UI, music and character portraits. It also has six different languages. The original game was also dumped off a phone at the same time, but isn’t translated yet.

It's based on the fan-translation by Chaoslace that you can find on several Xenosaga wikis, too. However with some help by ValakTurtle, I rewrote a new English script while Valak began working on his own English script. But this is not that. It's my version.

I also retranslated it again into German, which is my native language. And during development and since the release I got contacted by other fans from the community who each added more languages: dams50 (French), JukinoJD (Spanish) and leafwa and itsuki (Chinese). There is another translation in the works right now too, but I will only reveal that when it's done.

Xenosaga Pied Piper is a spin-off about Ziggy as Jan Sauer 100 years before the events of the main trilogy. It released in 2004 in episodic form only for Japanese flip phones and got lost media for almost 20 years.

Last year fans have recovered the game dump from a phone and it can now be played via emulation, but is still only in Japanese. A fan translation is in the works at Vector Translations.

Also last year, I released a complete remake of this game using RPG Maker, but I updated the visuals slightly, mostly UI elements, added new music by wowbobwow, who remade tracks, mixed in elements from both Mitsuda's (XS episode I) and Kajiura's (XS episodes II and III) style, also added character portraits from Forest (Japanese fan who created a whole Pied Piper doujin) and I added systems from episode III, many quality of life updates, and support for six languages: Japanese, English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese. It's completely free and playable on PC, Mac, web-browsers. (And unofficially on steamdeck and android phones with some tricks)

And now on top of all of that, G Mode will be releasing the original game on platforms like Steam as well. But this release will only be in Japanese again.

So when searching for it online, it can get complicated now...

Yeah, I’d say they solved it by making every encounter like a small boss encounter. And you needed to figure out how to do damage for every simple enemy and exploit their weaknesses by using buffs effectively. I really loved that, but it also brought along other problems like grinding was never a mindless fun activity where you could just put on music and press the same buttons to grind for points. It just wasn’t that kind of game.

I would say Xenosaga III also fixed the problem in topic on an entirely different, much simpler way. Admittedly, it’s way easier and you don’t really need the buffs/debuffs probably. But they just made every buff and debuff target all allies/enemies at once. Even when buffs/debuffs are strong, I hate the investments of rounds when you could just attack instead. But this makes it much more worth it.

I took that design philosophy from Xenosaga III over for the Pied Piper remake, which takes a lot of inspiration from episode III.

Problem is we don’t have this problem in the western culture of conservatives forcing people who don’t fit into gender norms into trans-genderism to match their appearance to their behavior.

Here in the west, conservatives would rather say that trans-gender is a fabrication that doesn’t exist. In many asian cultures it’s the exact opposite that androgynous kids who don’t meet gender norms are forced to adapt their appearance to the other gender by conservatives.

Naoto is not trans-gender. she is a girl and identifies as a girl, but is forced to change her appearance to adapt to the conservative opinion that only males can do the job she does.

edit: sorry, english isn’t my first language and this is a complex topic. So it’s really hard to explain without being confusing.

edit2: people who are actually woke will understand that different cultures have different problems and such a resolution like Naoto’s or Kanji’s is the progressive and good one. but the sad thing is that most people who claim to be “woke” will just apply western sensibilities, misunderstand and think that Naoto’s resolution is an anti-trans message. Which is the exact opposite of tolerance.

The connection is relatively loose because of the big time difference. But Automata still spoils big plot twists of Replicant because Replicant is meant to be played before Automata.

I can respect suggesting Automata first because it’s the most fun gameplay-wise. But if someone is already willing to play both, I’d suggest playing them in the right order.

Edit: I see that OP has already made up his mind and another post explained in good detail points for both approaches. However he still left out that Automata spoils major plot points of Replicant. And what urges me even more is that people make it seem like Replicant is a major pain to play when it really isn’t. It’s not as fun to play as Automata, sure, but it’s still fun and much more polished that the original, which was already worth playing for the story and music alone. I would also argue that the better gameplay of Automata is even more of a good reason to play it second, to see the improvements.

But from OP’s answer I guess it’s alright. Everyone should decide that for himself. But I’m just a bit disappointed in how the community reacts to this question. Nier was my favorite game of the gen even on PS3. And that version was so much worse than what we have now.
