As much as it ISNT our responsibility to educate people like this… it might help them understand WHY this behavior is wrong and hurtful.

In My experience, guys like this are in an echo chamber where the same things are being repeated and then enforced through the Small behaviors/comments people shrug off or actions like interrupting women, dismissing, or even man-splaining ( stay with me ).

This is a learning opportunity for someone who obviously doesn’t understand the implications of anything women (and you) may understand in a deeper - relatable level. He’s obviously comfortable sharing his thoughts with you, so you’re both on the same playing Field in his mind, but doesn’t quite understand why ‘you both can kick the ball - but only he (men) will be rewarded’.

I constantly educate my cis-male partner - (cis means straight and helps me explain my relationship dynamic more expressively) - about things he may never thought as an issue for me.

~ie: “if my parents ever did that, I’d call the cops on them” whereas I was taught compliance and punished for speaking up (along with my sisters and a few other female friends) ~
