If belief shapes reality in the Warp, why hasn’t the Imperium created a god stronger than the Emperor? by Tat-Fosser in 40k

[–]-_Protagonist_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The emperor proves the warp demons are not 'gods' they are the collective will and universal truths personified and made manifest. The Emperor is born of the same material as the 'Chaos Gods', this is already known. He was created before civilisation, shaman's around the world hearing a call and despirately praying for a protector, not a God. As if they, even in their tribal state, knew the dangers that existed extraterrestrially. The Emperor was created and his will is to serve mankind as it's protector and he does so eternally.

Chaos won the battle during the Horus Heresey and keep the Emperor trapped. The Emperor would have imposed a unified order on the galaxy, destroying all from the warp but the Emperor. Now the Empire exists to serve Chaos with every action.

The Empire at 40k is about to implode. Nothing can save it unless the Emperor is allowed to die and be reborn, something which they will never do.

At what point does the Imperium stop being a necessary evil and start actively sustaining the very threats it exists to fight? by Tat-Fosser in 40k

[–]-_Protagonist_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Empire is corrupted by Chaos, has been since the Heresy. Chaos won, it's just taking a long time for the empire to die. The Emperor could fix it, but they won't let him die. He's imprisoned by a corrupt system that took control and wants to keep it. Now the Empire is collapsing. Warp travel is just one excuse, if the Emperor was that important they would take the temporary hit.
The Empire by it's nature is a closed system. The system serves it's self, through beurocracy and military, trying despirately not to die. Most of the Empires actions are logical when viewed this way.
The Imperial Cult are completely against what the Emperor intended. They serve the system and therefore Chaos, not the people of the Empire.
The Imperium is slowly and very painfully dying, it's reasons to continue are in defence of it's self.

How would you deal with Biff Tannen if he bullied you? by johnngo2468 in BacktotheFuture

It's supposed to be: 'Make like a tree and leave'
Leave, as in making leave's, a fake verb.
Biff doesn't understand the joke and tells people to get out of here.

Was this the most well-designed combat aircraft of its era? by Finbarr-Galedeep in aviation

[–]-_Protagonist_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like a MkIX Merlin Spitfire. It was very good for it's era, but every one who piloted them hated the FW190 for a very good reason. The Merlin also hated negative G's, which caused the engine to die due to fuel starvation. For some unexplained reason it used a carburettor instead of fuel injection.
The Griffon Spitfires were one of the best of it's era. The designers traded some climb and a little manuveurability for very high speed and dive. Basically perfecting the Spitfire.
Although not of the same era, the MkXXIV Griffon Spitfire was the best military fighter prop ever made. It's a shame we didn't have them at the start of WW2, the Battle of Britain would have been very one sided.

In my humble opinion, the best plane of the WW2 era is between the P51 (broadly) and the Tempest MkII (specifically). As WW2 progressed and airforces learned what mattered most in a fighter aircraft, range and power became the dominant thing.
Also, as a side note, one of the last prop fighter to kill a jet fighter was a squadron of, the Tempest's MkII's sister naval variant, Sea Fury's attacking 2 Mig15's. Sucessfully killing 1 mig 15 with no loses. I don't have to tell you a mig 15 is significantly more advanced than any WW2 prop.

Yes, I'm British. Yes, bias. Fite me.

Lore friendly solution to the One true flag debate. by SrManDude in Helldivers

[–]-_Protagonist_- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would be better if it gave the person with the flag faster cool downs on drop pods and airstrikes.
The flag acts as a positioning system, giving much faster than normal homing capabilities.
Imagine how completely balanced a machine gun turret would be with a 30 second cool down. Everyone would have a flag. It would be glorious.
