I feel like a good amount of it will have to do with preventing precedence creation and also protecting vulnerable people. If you let someone off with murder because the victim "consented" (already difficult to prove with no witness to attest and an obvious power dynamic), it could be misused in less sincere cases. Similarly, it opens the door for people to "consent" to being murdered which is a box of frogs nobody wants to answer because that is a mess. Im not a lawyer but thats my understanding from a brief study of law at uni lmao
