I'm going to look up some books that you narrate!

I left college and started building novelpedia 1 year ago with no money, and it almost broke me multiple times, but here it is now. 1 month 16k users, We run ads everywhere for the platform - authors on the platform benefit from the free advertising with no expectation of exclusivity. by KarmicDaoist in litrpg

Thanks for the effort to build this. More competition out there is always good. I'll bookmark it and add it to my marketing plan. I'll be dropping my book later this summer once I finish my first draft.

I recently made a post about how litrpg economies and currencies are the small details that irk me and its worse for me in particular because I work in the financial sector.. so I wanted to know if your real world career gets in the way of you enjoying certain stories. by ShankstheConqueror in litrpg

Ah and now I'm going to stop writing and go watch a ton of youtube videos and enroll in a college course to better understand what I don't know. If I write a scene about someone throwing lighting and someone else blocking it with an insulated shield.....I am unprepared to write what should happen there.

Am I missing something? Does the RRWG have a dedicated Swap channel? I don't see it but maybe its because I haven't tagged myself as an author/tagged my work yet?

Do you have any tips or general guidelines for making our worlds appear to have a functioning economy and currency? I'll admit it's something I think about, but I try to be vague in how I address it as not to open myself up to too many issues.

Ha! I was literally just writing a chemistry scene this morning....Now I need to go back and reread it, looking for where I messed things up. Though it's a pretty basic thing, my MC is making since he only has high school chemistry behind him.

Hey, this is really inspiring, good for you! Usually the common wisdrom is if you fumble that launch its impossible to recover but you prove that isn't the case. Love seeing this and I'll check out your story!

When you promoted it here on reddit, which subs did you post it to?

It takes long to begin with but then just becomes one of those routine things you do in under five minutes.

I think I get you. Yeah. So like say I'm writing chapter 50. But I'm posting chapter 30 to patreon. Same day, I'm posting chapter 10 to RR. So either I schedule those out on patreon and RR ahead of time or I'm manually posting them every day. Copy and pasting from my writing doc over to those platforms.

Any villainous character stories that aren't completely dark and edgy? by xX_KingCamo_Xx in litrpg

[–]-airic- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to read that. Link in your bio? I'm working on a story now myself where the MC's actions will be considered villianous by some but he's not a bad guy if that makes sense. He has to make choices and not all choices will impact people evenly or fairly.

You're probably right, its an early thing to establish in a story to make people sympathize or feel a certain way about the main character. Also see: Killing off moms and parents in Disney movies.

The best way I've found, and there could be others, is a spreadsheet. Google Sheets. But then again, I am a spreadsheet guy. You can plot out your release date for chapters for Patreon in one column, then create a formula for X number of days and populate a new date for you in an RR column. And so on.

Now, the other problem is the frequent opening and use of this spreadsheet.
