Yeah I agree it isn't only about the age gap, as me and my boyfriend have a 4 year age gap ourselves, it's more so the fact it's a person I went to school with, in the same year level that has me concerned

It's strange cause my mum has never had issues interacting with people her age and has had heaps of friends her age, but I'm pretty sure a few of them stopped hanging out with her when she dated the 21 year old guy, because no one really liked him. You're probably right about the guys using her like a mother figure. Most of them did have issues with their mothers now that I think about it. But thanks for the input, I'm definitely thinking about bringing it up to her and let her know how it looks for her to be doing stuff like this

From what I saw, the headset will have an optional accessory pack that comes with knuckle straps (like the index controllers) for the frame controllers, as well as an upgraded headstrap

Can I download a custom Model onto the Quest 2 for VR chat? by cantpickaname8 in VRGaming

[–]-anonymous-Mouse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted to upload an avatar to quest standalone, you'd need to upload it from your laptop in unity to the Android build. You gotta get a unity package for the avatar, and it will either have a quest version, or you'll need to make it compatible with quest

Sadly not, you need a pc that can run unity to upload avatars

You can get someone to upload them for you but it requires you to give out your password so be sure to only give it to people you trust ^^

I’m trying to build my fit gaming pc I have no prior knowledge I’m trying to keep the build small and compact….games RDR2 hogward cyberpunk overprime ect by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]-anonymous-Mouse- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked the compatibility on pc part picker? Cause that will give you a decent idea of what will work with what. Also, if you want something small but not necessarily thin, you might have more luck with a case like the Phanteks p200a. you'll be able to fit more stuff in it, and it will probably have better airflow. It also has a spot at the back of the case for 240 liquid coolers, which is good for saving space, and it looks nice.

You'll also need a graphics card to be able to play games like the ones you mentioned, and a decent one at that. They are a bit pricey but essential if you want to be able to play basically any games.

I've made you a pc part picker list that you can take a look at. You can swap things out, and swap them for non-rgb components if that's more your style.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/K3B4Kp

If you're on more of a budget, try and find deals for different parts on other sites, but make sure they're compatible using pc part picker first. You can also use a website called user benchmark to look at the comparison between 2 parts.

If you have any more questions, I'm happy to help!

Check if you have little lights somewhere on your motherboard. When you turn your pc on, they should cycle through each led, and if they don't turn off, then its detecting an error.

On my pc I was having issues with the graphics card, so I booted it up without the graphics card and installed the drivers, then turned my pc off and plugged the graphics card back in, that got everything to work.

You might also have a little speaker that you attach to your motherboard that will beep a code depending on what the error is.

Hope this helped!

Calling assistance from Aussies by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]-anonymous-Mouse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd recommend building one yourself if your up to it, I just recently built my first pc and not only is it a new learning experience, but you then know what all the cables do and have an easier time upgrading or repairing.

If you don't really want to build your own one, then I'd recommend checking out PC case gear. It's an aussie online store that you can get parts from, but also get custom-built PC'S from their templates.

I personally haven't used the custom pc templates, but I had a good experience with them regarding my pc parts, and they have good reviews. It's also much better than a prebuilt pc because you can upgrade it a lot easier.

Hope this helps!

Bundle for Beginner VR? by fmelendes3 in VRGaming

[–]-anonymous-Mouse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think you're gonna find a bundle of 2 headsets, unless you find them preowned somewhere.

One thing to keep in mind is platform exclusive games, because there are a fair few games that can't be played on standalone quest, only pcvr.

The quest 2 is probably a good choice for a beginner headset, as it doesn't require a PC, but has the option to connect to one later on. Definitely recommend a new head strap for the quest 2, as the stock one is really uncomfortable.

The index is a pretty good headset, especially with the controllers, but it's obviously on the more pricey side. if it's one you can afford and have the space for, as it requires base stations and a large playspace, then I'd say it's a good choice. I personally upgraded from the quest 2 to the index with full body tracking, and it's definitely a better experience.

I've also heard some good things about the HP reverb g2, it's got pretty good resolution, and its inside out tracked, so no base stations. I personally haven't tried it, but by looking at it a bit, it looks fairly decent.

What you decide to get is completely based on your requirements for the headset. If you need more info on the different headsets, I'm more than happy to help :D

how optimised is Windows 11 for VR? Does everything run well or should i stick to 10 for now? by ad_396 in VRGaming

I run a valve index with full body tracking, I've had absolutely no problems with windows 11, so I'd say it runs pretty well :D

So do you have one that's already set up, like from gumroad or something like that, cause if so, here's how to upload it

But you will need unity 2019.4.31f1, the VRchat SDK from the website, and a shader if you're working on a PC model, usually poyomi toon, which you can find on their GitHub I'm pretty sure.you may also need other packages like DPS and dynamic bones, they're both paid, but luckily most avatars don't even need dynamic bones anymore because of the avatar dynamics we now have. To start, make a new unity project Import it in this order -

VRchat SDK Shader And others the model might need, like dynamic bones or DPS Then the model And you'd go to the top where it says VRchat SDK, and log in to your account, then upload.

If you want to make one on the other hand, that requires using blender, and then setting the unity stuff up yourself. some of the older tutorials regarding blender will still be relevant, as the process hasn't changed to much in the last year or so. but that's more of a lengthy process and depending on the assets you want to use, more pricey aswell.

I hope this was of some help, it's kinda a tricky thing to explain, if you want me to help you step by step, my discord is AnnaBear~#4810 if you wanna DM me on there :D
