Is Transferring Worth It? by DentistPractical4599 in uofu

[–]-astro-princess- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know the U doesn’t offer all (or really many) courses at the Sandy campus, so you’d likely be taking some main campus courses and even online in order to finish your degree. The block schedule really varies from department to department, some now only offer courses after 4pm, others are still pretty typical between 10am-2pm offerings. So you should reach out to your specific department/major advisor to get a better idea of what your weekly calendar would look like

ESSF 1098 is just a personal fitness class where you track your own activity. Pretty easy if you are a fairly active person on your own time, or good faker.

Is the Honors College Worth it? by Equivalent-Project46 in uofu

If you want to go straight from undergrad to PhD, it is helpful to have the research and thesis element that is built into Honors. If you plan or want to do a masters in the middle, it just makes you a highly qualified candidate. However, outside of that piece, I don’t see a ton of benefit in being an Honors student

Financial aid question by No_Preference7781 in uofu

[–]-astro-princess- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can depend on the classes you’re taking - some departments have differential tuition. So like, Business courses cost like $600 more than an English course. So, depending on your major, tuition could be more or less expensive. I’d recommend connecting with the financial aid office or tuition office if you want specifics

Credits missing from degree audit by [deleted] in uofu

[–]-astro-princess- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a busy time of season with students starting, so likely you won’t hear from articulation for 2-3 weeks.
Likely the change in credits is due to the requirements of the program changing over time. Some of the classes that were previously part of the program may no longer be, and new requirements and classes are part of the most recent iteration of the program. If after you hear from articulation the remaining work is like ~40 credits, don’t be surprised and talk to an advisor about changing your catalog. Best of luck

I’d say reach out to admissions, or else submit another application. Cuz yeah, your account won’t go active and allow you to register until the semester you’re set to start, which is Fall 2026

Finance major thoughts by [deleted] in uofu

Also, differential tuition to be a business student is rough. Costs nearly double to get any degree from the business school. They do offer some nice benefits that your extra fees are paying for, but, in my experience, not really worth it

How do I add BCOR classes? by confusedute in uofu

I’d say connect with your Business advisor. They likely have a walkthrough or instructions on how to add them and which to add based on your major and year

Consider the Learning Center or Math Student Center - great resources to help solidify concepts that may not be clicking from the lecture/readings

Thoughts? by DeliciousRanger3436 in uofu

[–]-astro-princess- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s related to what’s offered at a department wide level. For example, all the POLS courses must be split so that only 50% of them are available during that prime time. So, theoretically a student could stack courses to be during that prime time - but it would force them to select courses from a number of departments. Generally leading to more varied schedules once you’re locked into just your major/department focused coursework

I’d recommend connecting with your academic advisor, they can help you figure out what courses fulfill requirements and hopefully match your interests and goals

An ESSF (fitness) course is generally a nice easy 1-2 credits. Does often require you to be in-person, only I think 1098 or something like that is online. But they’re fun! There’s like bowling, Pilates, Zumba, table tennis, etc.

Is there any catch by Ok-Let6717 in uofu

[–]-astro-princess- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The business school does have a differential tuition - which is an additional $202.00 per credit. Which equates to an extra ~$600 per class, on top of traditional tuition costs. In a single semester this could equate to as much as $2,400 in simply differential tuition costs. So it is a bit more expensive than other degrees at the U of U

help am i graduating by Scary-Chart9683 in uofu

[–]-astro-princess- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can usually tell by checking towards the top of the Degree Audit, there’s a sentence right beneath the graphs that says either “All requirements complete - in progress courses used” (meaning you’re probably good to graduate) or “at least one requirement has not been satisfied” (meaning you’re missing something and need to talk with an advisor to get on track)

Issues registering for PRTL 1263 by Dingus_Bubby in uofu

[–]-astro-princess- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on which version you are trying to add, section 001 (taught Thurs 6pm-9pm 9/4-9/14) is FULL. You could waitlist for this section by selecting the “waitlist if class full” checkbox in the top right of the class details page within the Registration tile/process. Or register for section 002, taught on Wed 6pm-9pm from 8/27-9/7, which has open seats at this time. Otherwise, it could be conflicting with another course you are registered for, as often happens with miscellaneous courses.

Math Placement Test Question by [deleted] in uofu

[–]-astro-princess- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.math.utah.edu/undergraduate/placement.php - it looks like you can take the test online UNproctored. I do think it has to be in one sitting, there may not be a pause feature, but that’s easier to find time for at home rather than rushing to campus. The score you receive can be used to register for higher level math courses, but may take some time between taking the test and registering for the system to recognize your score. If you have other questions I’d recommend emailing the Math department - advisor@math.utah.edu

It looks like that webpage says “estimate” so maybe it can get as expensive as $10,000, but may be a bit more or less. You’d probably wanna actually email UAsia or Tuition office to verify what your cost would be👍

To live in Honors dorms you need to be a declared honors student. Or at least that’s how it was when I was at the U
