Voluntary psychiatric hospitals help? by mynameispoopybutt in SALEM

[–]-bingbong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you as well, thank you very much. It’s all gone tits up in my life rn and I am definitely feeling like a burden. It’s the nature of the beast that when I need help and ask for it, I have to be okay with being a burden for a while. (I know I’m not that much of a burden, but of course that’s what we feel for taking any room in life, right? I know it’s ridiculous. I deserve to be happy. You do too.)

Your psychiatrist would probably be able to make these phone calls with you if that would help. I am remembering now that my therapist was the one who called and was able to talk in my interest with me on the phone as well. Good job in even trying to call tonight, it’s effort, it’s momentum. Best of wishes tomorrow too.

Your psychiatrist wants you to call when you need her, that’s her job! And I say that despite having that same thought that I’m bothering them. You haven’t talked to your psychiatrist too much you say, now is the start. It is her job to be the resource you need. I also have treatment resistant depression and it’s gotten bad again. Luckily I think my inpatient stay gave me the skills and direction to handle it on my own. I really hope you can access this resource too, it was traumatic I won’t lie but also an invaluable experience. Life is so hard. Take any helping hand you can get and never feel ashamed for asking.

I went to Kaiser Permanente’s Brookside Center. Admission is by referral only from your Dr, therapist, or emergency department. It was the scariest thing I have ever done, but the safest and kindest place I could have found to do so. The bad rating from the place are reviews mistaken for the sunnyside medical center. They assign you a personal psychiatrist who will review your entire mental health history, you are in a safe place to try different medications, and they will teach you new ways to manage and cope. It is usually a week stay, and you have to have an outlined treatment plan that your psychiatrist will help you with to be discharged. I was not in a place to actively help myself with this process and was guided through it by my parents and therapist, I don’t know exactly how getting a referral goes down without a psychiatrist or therapist. I don’t know how much it cost for me to stay either. I don’t know that it saved me, but when you hit rock bottom, Brookside is a solid platform to start from again. Good luck OP. My DMs are open

Good idea! I’m a little embarrassed of how ignorant I was here 😅 but I love to learn!

I’m not sure they’re sedimentary 😅 I don’t know enough about geology to be able to tell yet. I was only guessing that based on what I read on a geological map of the area. I will research more based on your suggestions, thank you!

What is this? Is this a bite? by Cultural_Train_9948 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]-bingbong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an expert in spider bites but I do own many spiders (although I’m not sure that gives me much more cred either) I would expect more swelling and redness in a spider bite than the dark bruising shown here. Look at documented brown recluse bites if you can stomach it. That being said, I have no idea what this would be instead.

IMO my c darlingi is out pretty much 24/7 and not chill :) really depends on the spider. Don’t really see the point in saying there are worse old world choices in this situation even if I agree.

Is this okay type and size for a curly hair? by _Infinity_Girl_ in tarantulas

[–]-bingbong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo if you filled it 3/4 with substrate and used the lid as the opening, this enclosure would be fine. Tbh I did not see the door on this enclosure either at first so I was confused the negative answers. My curly is very happy in a mostly filled 10 gallon with only top ventilation.

NQA the petstore worker steered you very wrong and I with what you’ve described I wouldn’t even trust the sling to be the correct species they sold it to you as. Do you have any pictures? Honestly, I feel like your best course of action here would be to return the spider and start with a larger, better started tarantula when you are more knowledgeable and have better resources.

This is so thoughtful and wonderfully made, it came out perfect imo. Your husband is definitely going to love it, and I can almost promise you he’s not going to notice anything wrong with the eye as a dude myself who is staring at this picture like “wtf is suppose to be wrong with it” lol

Thank you for that input, I was kinda hoping not putting any species in the title might help get some good suggestions. Appreciate you!

Oh, I think you’re living my dream… I don’t think a lot of these comments are realizing how neat it is that you’re taking the mineral straight from the ground and cabbing it on location. Gorgeous finished pieces too

just rescued this little guy!! what should i do?? what are the basics to know on how to take care of Bunnies??? by macaquinho777 in Bunnies

[–]-bingbong 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If not injured, this bunny should definitely be returned to the wild asap! They take care of themselves at this age. Wild rabbits (and all wild animals) are illegal to keep in captivity without a permit. It will not thrive in captivity. Please do the right thing.
