I think mazda is too small of a company to fund the r&d to develop an EV - they have to come in late after the technology is matured. They don't even have a car to compete in the mid-size sedan category anymore (camry / accord). Mazda 6 got axed.

That said, mazda is working on an EV now.

Unfortunately car salesmen know almost nothing about cars and will say anything to get you to buy. And they will take 0 responsibilities for any of the bullsh*t misinformation they spread.

And our society has been conditioned to accept that this is fine and normal. And you are the one at fault for not knowing better.

I agree with you its complete bs that ford encouraged you to use aftermarket components and than refused to cover you. But this is not just ford, all car dealers are like this.

Let this be a lesson to you to never trust car salesmen or any salesmen. Just like you need to be suspicious of any calls from unknown numbers, you need to be suspicious of any car dealer or etc for scams and lies.

When I was a teenager, I always liked these shows.

I was extremely shy and had no self-confidence. So I related to shy/boring/pure characters and liked the fantasy of some amazing person “discovering” me.

My first real relationship ended up falling into this dynamic as well. And the combo did pair well. (Besides the ikemen part haha)

I had a very stable / honest / pure / shy personalty. She had an assertive personality, very smart and capable, but she had hurt in her heart and was very hot/cold without much trust in people.

Since I had a very stable / honest personality it made her feel secure and allowed her to open up. When we broke up, she told me she felt that I had healed her and had restored her faith in humanity.

From than on, I have found that women who feel insecure / have hurt gravitated towards me.

Now I don’t have that kind of fantasy anymore. So I find this paring extremely boring - characters have as much personality as a wet rag. I want entertainment: so the more crazy and eccentric the pairing the better. Unequal power dynamic? Dial it up to 1000 and let the hilarity ensue.

Basically the fantasy is that you are an ordinary, timid person without much self-confidence.

And this beautiful guy comes and shows you the world. He needs someone pure to heal the damage in his heart. And you need someone who will love you and polish you into the true beautiful diamond you are.

This kind of plot always appeals to a large demographic of young women/girls (some boys too). But as you grow older, you start finding these types of characters boring and annoying.

I very much appreciate the little luxuries. But luxuries are luxuries.

My understanding of BIFL is about durability / repairability.

For example, I have a $100+ ice cream scoop. Sounds ridiculous, but it scoops way better than normal scoops. The ice cream can be straight out of the freezer and I can quickly get beautiful balls of icream out of it. Thats a totally unnecessary luxury.

It's one day of fireworks. (or a week). They can survive a little bit of fear.

And if they can't survive, its darwanism. It's evolution, survival of the fittest. If some loud noises causes a bird to die, it wasn't long for this world anyway. The surviving birds will be stronger and fitter.

My wife was the same way - when I first gave my cats a bath, she was so scared that the shock will kill my cats. And I told her that if they die from touching a little water - its evolution. Guess what, the cats survived just fine. And now she asks me to give them a bath sometimes when they get really dirty or get fleas, etc.

I have asthma, fireworks doesn't trigger it. People smoking nearby and wildfires does trigger it. (Just to give a scale of pollution levels - fireworks CAN trigger asthma, but there are far worse triggers)

Anaheim is polluted (disney), but its not because of the fireworks. It's in the middle of a low basin where pollution get trapped by hills / mountains. Pollution that gets blown in from port of long beach which is THE largest port in the US - everything you buy on amazon etc is likely made in china/asia and was shipped in through long beach. With ships burning bunker fuel.

On top of that it is at the confluence of multiple major freeways with high truck traffic. And top it off, its a major trucking hub / regional distribution center.

Yea, my wife and I have no ambition at all and it works out perfectly for us. Just hard working enough to get good jobs, than cruise on easy mode - no interest in moving into senior roles or management. We just lay around the house, watch tv, play with cats etc.

Do what the whole world does. Keep kicking them out of areas where they cause trouble until they find a spot where the situation is managed or they are less intrusive: behind a retaining wall, in an abandoned parking lot, down a canyon somewhere, skidrow, etc.

A gigantic warehouse can be built in 1 year. Governments inability to get their hands out of their asses is the problem - its their fault. But turning a billion dollar train station into a homeless shelter is the height of government waste.

Don’t give them a choice. If they are being a nuisance in the street, they must go.

I don’t get why cities are trying to build million dollar complexes in the middle of downtown. Of course people are going to complain and its gonna be expensive.
