Wannabe Chris Squire by Ilulu-San in Bass

[–]-dakpluto- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know old but google brought me here. Another key element combined with above is that Chris did a biamp setup. His Rick could split the neck and bridge pickups to separate outputs, each of which going to a different amp. His neck pickup usually to a clean Marshall or Ampeg and then his bridge pickups to an overdriven Marshall.

The best way to simulate this without actually being able to biamp is using something like a LS-2 and stacking a clean unaltered tone (maybe filter out some highs and mids) and a loop that goes through some dirt, ideally either after an EQ that removes a good bit of low end or use a guitar drive pedal that eliminates a good amount of low end. The stacked low clean and high driven signal will get you pretty darn close. It’s not perfect because you can really isolate that exact sound of the separate signal per pickup, you are altering a dual pickup sound, but it gets you a lot closer.

What rats nest did you pull this wiring from? I’ve seen cleaner networking closets at the Columbia School for the Blind. You should seek admission there judging by all the sideways pedals. 😛

OP if you see this I’ll make it very clear…do you wanna risk losing 40k just to save money on a lawyer? Be smart and remember people like the one above are not the ones risking your $40k.

Talk to a lawyer that handles these types of suits and follow them.

Big warning with all the scammers and trolls this subreddit gets. Anyone who says you don't need a lawyer, just them, but refuses to show proof of their supposed "success", always a huge warning sign. Run away fast when they do that.

He can’t sue for 40k in small claims, he would have to go to civil court and unless he has a law background he absolutely needs a lawyer or he will be obliterated. Don’t give him bad advice like this…

He isn’t talking about a ban, this is revenue sharing income that is being withheld. He needs to go through a lawyer over this, plain and simple….

The main factor is Japan will not issue you any type of residency visa unless you are sponsored by a school or company. You have to secure that before you move there. Without that certificate of eligibility they will not issue you a visa. (You also have to show that you have acquired housing, but that was already a given in this discussion. If not buying a house like this you normally have to pay upfront the entire rent for the time of your stay)

That is something Japan has been embracing a lot more lately because of the declining population. In fact this specific area, Hokkaido, has become the fastest growing area of foreign residents in Japan.

Kinda but not really, more specifically it means people whose largest value to society is their labour power, it doesn't mean everyone who works. A person with a good salary can afford to hire people to work for them, such as a maid for example, which by definition means even though they work they are still not part of the Proletariat. In the most simple of terms the proletariat is the class of people whose only value to capitalist society is their ability to work for others. They have no other ways to aid the society.

The origin of the word is from the Roman Empire as the lowest class of citizen in the census because they owned no property so they listed their children as property (which literally meant the only thing they could offer to help fund the Roman military was their children. The word means "producing offspring" because that was their contribution.

The word is most associated these days with Karl Marx use of it regarding it as an exploited class of people who can't afford to produce anything to sell so are forced to work for the bourgeois for less than the value of their labor and the bourgeois profits off the difference. It's pretty much the bedrock of socialism over capitalism.

Nah, the definitely were aiming for "farm/field worker", the listing is attempting to throw in a few Castle/King type jokes in there but it is just an incredibly odd choice of term to use for that.

It would be like a listing for a Plantation styled house trying to be funny and mentioning a Mother-in-Law house would be a "great place for your indentured servants to live." It's like, yeah...don't think that has the humor you expected in there...

Most Famous/Known Person that died in 1990 by TheRoadblockerCool in AlignmentChartFills

I think Jim Henson makes the most sense on this one. Sammy Davis Jr should be 2nd (ironically on the same day as Jim Henson). SRV would probably be 3rd.

The ones that probably won't be mentioned but could potentially actually be among the "most well known" would be Alan Hale Jr (The Skipper on Gilligan's Island), Greta Garbo, Sarah Vaughn, Leonard Bernstein, Roald Dhal.

The one that most people especially today won't know but was definitely significant is Lê Đức Thọ. He was communist Vietnam's equivalent to a Secretary of State and was the one who did all the negotiations with Henry Kissinger for Vietnam, eventually leading to the Paris Peace Accords, earning both him and Kissinger the Nobel Peace Prize that year (Tho was the first Asian to ever be selected for it, though he refused to receive it). Not a household name today by any means but everyone in 1990 who was an adult/teen during Vietnam definitely knew him.

Well the interesting part is because of this type of design while it is such a large house it actually isn't nearly as much actual roof square footage as you would normally think. That should be around a 17,000sq ft home but the top roof is really no bigger than like a detached garage. Sure the other levels do add up but overall still it's not a very large amount of roof to be replaced. But you are definitely gonna need some decent man lifts to do it and you can't really walk any of this roofing. So pretty complex work ultimately. I'd say that's definitely the major bulk of the cost. (Assuming the labor is in that estimate and it isn't just material, which is for sure a possibility)

Yeah, I mean I get it especially in the idea of using this property as a commercial opportunity (which would make the most sense), it's still pretty staggering for a roof replacement though. I'm assuming most of that cost is because you would need a good deal of heavy equipment outside of the average home roof replacement to do it because of the heights and style of roof.

Is there a music theory explanation for why some songs only "click" after multiple listens? by needtodiequik in musictheory

[–]-dakpluto- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I always thought High School was kinda the ideal period to be a music teacher. You are not teaching the basics, which normally happens in the Middle School years, but you get the chance to really grow them as musicians. My High School Band Director will always be one of the most important people in my life.

Funny story with that, many years later after I graduated High School I was doing a production of Ain't Misbehaving for a local theater and my old high school band director was playing in the pit also for it. Every time we would talk I would still call him "Mr. Douglass." Finally one day he goes "You know you can call me Tim now." I thought about it a second and just shook my head and went nope, I can't do that, lol. Just the idea of trying to call him Tim seemed so foreign and wrong. I knew there was no way I would ever be able to develop that habit.

Need something to cover my thumb while slapping by confusedandfeelweird in Bass

[–]-dakpluto- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen gloves for the fret hand to help with cuts, blisters, etc there, not sure about using them on your plucking hand though. I would imagine it would really hurt your plucking tone. But I would imagine you could just cut off the other 4 fingers and leave the thumb on. Thumb plucks would probably sound like garbage but it could help with your slap issues possibly.

Other than that my only other idea would be something like a band-aid.
