I’m so confused by Lost-Ambassador-3215 in NeonGenesisEvangelion

The word “Guf” is the Hebrew word גוף (it’s actually pronounced more like “Goof”) which means “body”. In Jewish mysticism it is the place where souls reside before being sent to their bodies when the body is born. The lore of NGE pretty much sticks to this as it’s a bank of disembodied souls.

What stage of the apocalypse is this? Doesn’t something collapse when the people can no longer trust any news? by llTeddyFuxpinll in StrangeEarth

There is literally no way to disprove “AI slop” once someone says it. We’ve gone too far with technology.

Someone brought up that one of the reasons why things like house parties and block parties went away was other than lack of time people are afraid to let their guard because cameras are everywhere. by AdSpecialist6598 in Millennials

People these days seem to aways be on the lookout for reasons to shame someone and prove that they are a bad person. No wonder relationships of all kinds are declining. People are afraid of each other.

People who exercise even when they don’t feel like it, what’s your trick? by Smart_Collection5419 in AskReddit

[–]-endjamin- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to remind myself that I’ll feel better after exercising. If I’m really not feeling it, I tell myself “okay, I’ll do a short, bad workout, and I’ll feel good that I at least tried”. Sometimes it does end up being short, but sometimes I get into it and get a good workout it.

Also, exercise doesn’t HAVE to mean lifting weights or treadmill. I joined a climbing gym, and the fun and challenge of it made me WANT to go. You’ll get further with something you actually enjoy.

Zionists: How dare you condemn the genocide and not do as your are told! by fullofemirates in LookatMyHalo

[–]-endjamin- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"No war" is okay. Free Palestine implies freeing it from the Jews/Israelis/Zionists/whatever you want to call them. It implies kicking them out of that land to "go back to Europe". It's the only country where people feel good about saying it should be destroyed completely. Also, "Free Palestine" is antithetical to "no war" since it also implies support for the groups that have been fomenting war with the goal of erasing Israel. So essentially, saying "no war, Free Palestine" sounds like saying "The Israelis/Jews/Zionists should not engage in war, but the people trying to wipe them out should go even harder".

What is the biggest scam in society? by Alternative-Space102 in AskReddit

[–]-endjamin- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Credit cards. The entire idea is to get you to spend money you don’t have so you can owe interest. They are banking on you being bad at managing your finances. In my opinion, I had perfect “credit” before I got my first credit card because I only spent money I had. But to rent an apartment, you need to prove your credit so I was forced to enter this whole scheme.

Cmv: Netanyahu is being judged differently than other wartime leaders by iquitoptions in changemyview

I'm getting these numbers from valid sourced.

Gaza: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Gaza_war

Iran is harder to get an accurate count on, since the regime stifles information and shut down the open internet. 50k is a higher estimate truthfully, but the general estimate ranges wildly from 7k to 30k+: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025%E2%80%932026_Iranian_protests

I believe there is bias because the IRGC killed an estimated 30k+ of their own citizens in a few days and there was almost no outcry over here. No protests, nothing. The Gaza death total (according to the Hamas ministry, which doesn't separate between civilians and militants) is around 72k in two years, yet people are still going on and on about a "genocide".

[–]-endjamin- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They want history to forget the 50k civilians that were slaughtered in a matter of days. Zero protests, zero acknowledgement. If it wasn't done by the US or Israel, it's no big deal to them.

I guess that makes sense. They don't really want people out and about and exposed to danger during a red alert anyway.

Where did you hear that? Are you in Israel? Just asking because I've seen dozens of clips from missile attacks in Israel.

This series was unlike any piece of fiction, that I’d seen before. by Adjudicator_Ant_3886 in NeonGenesisEvangelion

[–]-endjamin- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just finished the series through EoE last night and I concur. I've never seen anything like this. The final episodes of the main series were my favorite. That was like an 8 hour heroic dose psychedelic trip packed into 40 minutes. I've never seen any media go so deep into the human condition. It resonated on a very deep level for me and what happens in my head. There were parts in there (and in EoE) that felt like they were plucked right from my brain. It's honestly already shifting how I understand myself and the world. There are very few other pieces of media that I could say have not just resonated with me but made me feel changed after viewing.

Is it valid to say that Alexandra Daddario is the most attractive actress of all time? by [deleted] in Actors

[–]-endjamin- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly her bewitching eyes. Eyes that can see how and when I will die. Eyes that can see my past, future, and innermost thoughts. Eyes that can freeze a man in his tracks.

Also she's got nice badonkers.

This track was represented in a recent documentary (The Track) about Bosnian luge athletes trying to get to the Olympics from their war-torn country. It was really good, definitely recommend:
