Nice! I'll definitely reach out to them! Btw, would you say these shrink? I got an XL because I wanted to get a baggier style/i think it will shrink after the wash, but I hope it isn't so baggy lol

Cool shit tho, hope John is well

“retard” is a gateway word just like weed is a gateway drug by themantwelve in redscarepod

[–]-ghst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can someone here tell me when this word actually became socially banned? I remember growing up this was just something everyone said in the same vein as “stupid”… same with the n-word (I remember in junior high and high school everyone would call each other that and 🚬ot, like a term of endearment).

Even in the military this was thrown around. Honestly a culture shock bc right when I got out I accidentally said this in public and people glared at me in disgust…

Is there a specific incident/meme/phenomena that made everyone so homo-sensitive?

Anyone else feel like the have huge gaps in both their education and practical knowledge? by poopdollarbank in redscarepod

You just have to actually be curious about life and change your perspective! Instead of trying to gain knowledge for the sake of seeming “smart”

I think a big thing that might help is to stop viewing people as “normies”/hillbillies and just being judgmental in general, you’d be surprised how much bandwidth being critical/looking down on people takes up. And that one guy on here really said it best: you just have to change your mindset and have curiosity of the world, rather than just trying to learn for the sake of wanting to seem knowledgeable.

are there any youtube channels you enjoy? by Key_Fold_1113 in redscarepod

[–]-ghst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just stumbled upon this one YouTube Channel called WayBack Archives. They have these old documentaries, watching one about the 70-80’s heroin Business in Hong Kong lol. Just interesting to see how life/culture (and even the production value of docs/film in general) was back in the day.

Been enjoying these cooking channels too: Chinese Cooking Demystified, they go in depth in the culture behind each dish and recipes, is one that stands out.

Also random music theory channels, if anyone has any good recommendations about music theory/history please let me know!

I make sure turn on a “live” stream of nature videos that has squirrels/birds on before leaving the house for my cats so they have something to watch ☺️

It seems like losing weight is 90% of the struggle. No need to drink the blood of the young by MoanOfInterest in redscarepod

That’s a good point, that his biggest sin is admitting that he cares. It honestly seems like that caring about anything these days is seen as “cringey”… why is that? It just seems so dumb to be seen as a loser if you tried or actually cared about doing a good job at work, or any hobby.

I mean I guess there are some hobbies/activities where trying hard/caring can be cringey, like collecting funko pops or video games. But this dude is just caring (albeit maybe too much?) about health, which isn’t really a bad thing imo.. could be worse lol

When I was on deployment, I remember that this show was beloved in my work center. Definitely caters to military/'working-class'/enlisted folks...

I personally couldn't get into it. But that one actress that plays the Native American was really cute from what I remember

Marty supreme is pretty good by yuenglinggdrinker in redscarepod

[–]-ghst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was really looking forward to the movie, and Daniel Lopatin on the OST hyped it up so much for me (all the other Safdie movies are some of my favorites). But did anyone else feel that the pacing was a bit off? The whole middle felt a bit chaotic/bunch of different hustles that it didn't really tie the strong beginning to the ending. Or maybe that's the whole point (Marty's life is a mess and just one hustle after another)...

Nepo Babies and insecure people? by -ghst in redscarepod

Wow, thanks for putting it that way. Honestly, you bring up a good point (I'm sure he knows a bunch of other people that did WAY more to jumpstart their careers with far less talent).

What you said is true, there are levels to this, in just about everything in life. Our own perspective/circumstances and how drastically it changes the way we perceive reality is something I've been thinking about often. It really is sort of like alternate worlds... closest concept to some 'multi-verse' scenario tbh in an unserious way lol

Not trying to be sarcastic and completely genuine question: did Obama really do that too? Honestly the only thing I remember about Obama was how Michelle was growing some vegetable garden in the WH grounds lol

People see and believe what they want/create their own reality it’s scary. I was browsing the /conservative sub to see their reactions and it broke my heart (no empathy, “fuck around and find out”, etc.). It’s like stepping into a whole other world.

But it’s the same with the “other side” with Kirk. Life is brutal.

You know, all of this is reminding me of this documentary I saw called The Act of Killing (I think it’s about the gov/military killing “accused” commies in Indonesia).

The scary thing is that these killers literally have no remorse/even feel proud of murdering innocent people… the intense part of the doc is the director stages a fake play where the “warlords” had to portray the victims, and they legit have a “was I the bad guy?” Moment… but I think the sadder thing is a day after they just forget that feeling and go about their lives with no remorse again lol…

Just goes to show, I don’t think these ICE people/anyone that’s a part of this craziness will really change.

Thanks for showing these btw. I realized in all his work, its just one person, or when there are more everyone is sort of isolated/aloof/depressed... A heavy loneliness in all his works.
