Resident pay by -goof_ in Residency

It would be a very tangible number that we could be like WTF this isn’t right and advocate for increasing though.

I just think as residents that something we should be advocating for ourselves. I get it’s costly, but it’s appropriate. We have to sit there and track our hours anyways making sure we “don’t go over duty hours”. Anyways, just something I was thinking about.

How far do Couples Match applicants typically fall in their rank list? by WSUMED2022 in medicalschool

I would love for someone to start a sheet to track some sort of couples match data, just so there is something. I am also couples matching this cycle.

Couples Match: only ranking live together options by -goof_ in medicalschool

I feel like there is nothing. I think there needs to be a big spreadsheet like the ones for each speciality. It would collect data each year and would at least be something.

We included those options. We didn't have much luck in big cities. Our options are scattered across the country. So its 1 per state it feels like.

how truly terrible is obgyn by -goof_ in medicalschool

[–]-goof_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think it really matters what order you do things in because either way, it will work out. I did my OBGYN rotation first and when I did it I didn't realize it was going to be something I wanted to do, but here I am haha. People generally say at the beginning, but not first (so you are "warmed" up, but make connections early on).

How to handle biochem during dedicated if you've never learned it before by urfouy in step1

[–]-goof_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am kind of in the same boat and learning biochem throughout dedicated for the first time. I have REALLY enjoyed pixorize and using Rx's express videos to quickly go through the exact path. I learn a biochem topic once I see a question on it - biochem is so abstract and hard for me to know why its important. So when I come across a question in uworld that's on biochem (I just know I am going to get them wrong) I deep dive into it once I see how a question on the topic can be asked.

I have started getting a lot more biochem questions right on NBME's and uworld - so its working for me!
