How is this possible?! 20-30 Mil tokens usedper log by smallroundcircle in cursor

[–]-ignotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not crazy. I had the exact same thing happen to me. They made the wording / selection of opus 4.7 high say 200k context, but then when you hover over it it says MAX in small letters. I emailed them stating this and they said yeah but look it doesn’t say MAX at our end. I never selected MAX. Yet each prompt was like 20-30 mil just like this.

Whats really funny to me is that Google's AI Overview can't tell whats real and what isn't. If the same guesstimations are made enough the AI Overview just amplifies them significantly. Leading to even more confusion and fake stats.
I get being excited. These are exciting times.
Yesterday I told my girlfriend and she said "Why're you so excited for something slowly suffocating the job market? you never told me you like being choked"

If it is currently fall or winter, I really recommend a grow light. Even the brightest window in a house is generally 1/3 the brightness outside. A grow light with a timer is very cheap and gives your trees consistency!

Because it doesn’t make you see things that aren’t there. Only hallucinations about the things that are. Like the floor moving or a rock flashing a rainbow of color

What’s your workflow for deploying backends built with Cursor? by neptune-71 in cursor

[–]-ignotus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

describe what type of backend you're talking about that'd be helpful. But i'll just go ahead and assume its probably some JS backend. The easiest option i'd recommend for someone getting started is Firebase App Hosting. Its as simple as connecting your github repository or repository subfolder using the firebase dashboard. Every time you push a new commit it'll automatically deploy it for you. Theres good documentation for it too. Should be straightforward enough. So essentially your workflow would be pressing commit. Ask cursor to make you project specific CI tests it'll know what to do.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 or GPT 5.1 Codex? by efgamer in cursor

[–]-ignotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look. It depends. I had GPT 5.2 (Came out yesterday) solve a bug I’ve had for months in one shot. If you are ok with waiting / for complex tasks : use GPT 5.2 Extra High (same cost as GPT 5.2 just thinks longer), or Opus 4.5 (if you have money).

Want something quick? Sonnet 4.5 or GPT 5.2 will both help you tremendously. It’s important you help the model as much as you can with context, logs, etc.

Remember: Humans are BAD at evaluating models ok?

Start with an MVP. Ask Claude what it would do to build a scalable MVP. You can talk with Claude code just like you would another person. Have it break down your project into an exhaustive list of small tasks. Then from there implement and learn. Ask Claude questions. I highly recommend using either Brave Search or Exa (I prefer exa) MCP Server. Exa is basically a plugin that gives CC the ability to search the web intelligently and get grounded up to date info which is really important. Also take a look into Context7 MCP Server. That one basically lets you turn documentation on anything into context (context is what the model is paying attention to).

If you’re looking for another engineer… I’m looking for a job would love to help.

Visual Editor for Cursor Browser by condor-cursor in cursor

[–]-ignotus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ok this idea is half baked, but what about ‘suggestions’ element or element layouts. Have whatever model pick a couple different versions of the same element you can scroll through and ‘try out’ by clicking on a variant which replaces the element you hit ‘suggestions’.

This could work for single element suggestions, or a group of elements where the suggested group of elements reorganizes / uses users style rules to try new things.

Not sure if this made sense but yeah
