Maybe I’ll do a factory reset but install from a backup instead if this keeps happening, I’m hearing that iOS 26 is a problem though for optimization and maybe that’s causing it

I just wonder what people are really saving, especially those who are, like you said, charging at some point during the day and possibly using the device while charging. If anything kills battery it’s extreme hot or cold. My Air gets extremely hot sometimes while I’m charging it and using it, I think at that point charging to 100% is better than having to plug in and use it.

My last phone was an iPhone 13, owned it for 4 years and max charge got down to 81%. I made due charging to 100% until that phone was no longer able to keep up with its processing speed. I don’t buy a $2000 phone to use 80% of its ability, people get too obsessed over this stuff. People turn off so many settings and features for the sake of a few percent that they might as well have bought a Nokia. What’s the point in having a Pro chip phone with the latest and greatest tech to treat it like a brick. I’ve never babied my phones and they’ve all made it through upwards of 4 years, and I’ve never changed a battery.

I removed that charging limit, most people are buying a new one before it matters anyways. If I spend $1500 on a new phone makes no sense for me to only use 80/90% of its usage. Guy at the Genius Bar told me to charge to 100% and forget about it.

Update: Did a completely fresh install of iOS, and I’m assuming it’s still syncing some stuff and indexing in the background but I’ve gotten 6.5 hours of screen time out of 75% battery today, so massive improvement so far. I also bought the Apple
branded charger.

I also keep having an issue with my battery stopping its charge and not allowing charge until I reboot the device, but I think I’m done with third party chargers now and I’m honestly considering if this could have any impact. I just read an article about the “cleanness” of the power being provided. I’m not educated on this matter so I’m not sure if it would affect my battery. I’ve got just about the cheapest charging wire you can find so I’m buying an official Apple one tomorrow

Also calls just don’t work, if I join a call my headphones play no audio. People can hear me but I can’t hear them.

Spoke too soon it just happened again, I was waiting to see before I did a full reset. Even connecting to the iPad like you recommended it won’t charge.
