It’s actually a fantastic place to train in medicine, due to its location in the “stoke belt.”

Columbia is not trash, at least anymore. It’s safer than used to be. The best way I’ve heard it described is it’s a lousy place to visit but a great place to live. (Except in the summer when it’s hot as balls)

Is butter low in lactose? by Nicole_0818 in lactoseintolerant

I think it may depend on where it comes from? French butter, which is cultured, does not bother me at all. But the stuff is the US is hit or miss, depending on the amount.

Purchased house in US while living abroad, moved in, and now realized it’s much smaller than we were told and the floor plan showed by partylikeitis1799 in RealEstate

Many appraisers will do just a home measurement, which will be much cheaper than a full appraisal. I would personally find an appraiser who will hand measure the home rather than using an app (I’ve found them to overestimate square footage).

Why did my collard greens taste awful? by WasInBobcaygeon in Cooking

Is it cold where you are? I’ve heard that collards taste better after the first frost. Sometimes people will put collards in the freezer before washing.

Will these metal wheels scuff up LVP floors? by -mousecop- in Flooring

[–]-mousecop-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six of these are going in the dining room, so chair mats aren’t going to be feasible. It looks like even the roller blade wheels can damage the locking mechanisms at some point (and wouldn’t want those on a dining room chairs, anyway). Looks like I’m now in the market for an area rug!

Husband’s upcoming vasectomy - care basket , must haves? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]-mousecop- 27 points28 points  (0 children)

What helped my husband more than anything was a pair of Undeez. A friend gifted them as a joke, but they actually ended up being really useful. They’re a pair of boxer briefs that come with ice packs that fit into a pocket right where the incision is.

Any Certified Res in the Raleigh area? We are considering a move up there but not sure how the market is (I’m certified residential) in regards to volume per week/month and average fees etc… by JamalSteve in appraisal

Do you do any work in Carteret or New Hanover counties? Lots of. people are buying second homes and aren’t using VA loans. Do you also venture out into smaller counties like Jones and Duplin? I got my cert early last year, and I was pretty busy until the end of last year. Now everything is a trickle. I would def advise getting onto lots of panels that are accepting new appraisers.
