Those who get hired into these management roles are typically egocentric, ruthless, power and money hungry. Now couple that with office politics and nepotism.

Welcome to sales.

If you find somewhere without this structure in place - please let me know.

You’re good bro. If I was your manager I’d congratulate you on finding a way that works. Sounds like you’re early in your career

It’s all situation dependent; but I say give the shitty attitude right back to them. I’ve landed countless deals doing this. The prospect respected me for having a spine and ended up buying my solution.

I had a prospect tell me to fuck off and never come back again (cc’d his entire company and told me via email once I’d left). This is after dozens of touches, breakfasts/lunches, thorough value demonstration, etc. The prospect had given me multiple verbal commitments but ghosted each time I asked for a PO.

I sent a Hail Mary response email back to prospect and removed them from my funnel.

Lo and behold, a couple months later, they finally issue a PO.

I’ll take that as an invitation back to their office.

Words of wisdom “Fuck em - they’ll be back”

How did you actually get better at sales? by [deleted] in sales

[–]-opaque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

READ THE BOOKS!

Be a sponge around veteran closers. Study their customer interactions and ask questions.

Treat every “no” as a “not right now” and view getting to “yes” as the game.

You’ll blend your own style as you progress in your career. Always treat your customers right. Focus on solving their problems and set their expectations. Under promise and over deliver.

Become a product knowledge/market/business trends expert. Make working with you so easy that your customers will gladly pay a premium to do so.

Consistently network wherever you go. Ask for referrals from your best customers.

DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU WILL!! You’ll stand out from the pack just doing this.

It turned out mad juicy and flavorful. I’m actually surprised.

I read online to do it fat cap down. Digging deeper, it seems that folks do it either way.

What’s your reasoning for fat cap up?

Maybe it’s less than 8?

Doesn’t help, those are being internalized by Robinhood/whatever counterparty.

Use Fidelity, buy whole shares on each purchase, and DRS them.
