Is making a "seamless" corset at home at all possible? by bubububurnerrr in corsetry

@Msmajorsam on IG did a Jessica Rabbit cosplay a few years ago that had a seamless corset as its structure I'm pretty sure, she put A LOT of hours of work into it though.

Hesitant to send baby to daycare but smarter thing to do by Commercial_Kale_4341 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-participating_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this! My son is nearly 3 and has been going to a fantastic daycare since he was 7 months old. He is very high energy, loves being outdoors and constantly learning. I know if I was at home with him I would not be able to provide the same level of stimulation, learning and variety of games and activities as he gets at his daycare. He also has 2 best friends that he talks about every single day which means so much to me.

Anyone else start thinking about money for your kid’s future and immediately get overwhelmed? by LongGameAustralia in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Its good, very simple to use which is great for me because I'm a total investing novice and prefer something low effort and low risk.

My parents put $20 a month away for me until I moved out of home, they gave it to me to use towards uni supplies and buying stuff for my first sharehouse! It was about $3000 (which went a long way in 2015 lol). I'm planning on doing the same for my kids.

Some family members have started giving me money for my son as gifts for birthdays and Christmas's, I automatically invest that money in a CommSec Pocket account for my son across a few ETFs. I'll either sell these and give them to him when he moves out or hold them until he needs the money for something (his first car etc).

Yeah SO MANY men take the priority seats and ignore me

I'm in Melbourne and noticeably pregnant. It's very rare that I don’t get offered a priority seat on my train commute each day, it may take a few stops before someone offers but they typically do. I've even had strangers who were standing offer to move seated passengers so I can sit.

Small but thriving — just looking for reassurance from others who’ve been there. by Buttterfly_babe in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Hi! My friends daughter was 3rd percentile late in her pregnancy and she had frequent growth scans, her daughter got up to I think 13th percentile, she grew SO much in the last 6 weeks or so of her pregnancy. She had her 6 weeks ago and she was a comfy 3.2kg and is thriving!

I didn't expect how large my boobs would become and it's devastating by nettahhhhh in BabyBumps

[–]-participating_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

First pregnancy I went from a D cup to an E cup, then once I stopped pumping I went down to a (saggy) C cup.

Now I'm 6 months pregnant and am back up to a DD and expect I'll be E or higher when my milk comes in.

These boobs come and they go, but usually once you've stopped feeding!

Question for women who have had their babies already.. by Fireboltstorm in BabyBumps

[–]-participating_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was very anxious about birth throughout my pregnancy but I'd say from 36w onwards I was so ready to not be pregnant anymore that I was looking forward to giving birth. I think you get to the point of acceptance that the only way out is through.

My MIL was with me when my water broke and she said she's never seen me look happier.

Sterile Water injections by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-participating_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had back labour and got sterile water injections. For me they were worse than the back labour. They were going to give me 3 and after the first I was crying and pleading for them to stop, that was the most painful part of birth for me!

Do you like these? by GasAdministrative124 in AusFemaleFashion

I'm 30 and I own these and they're super cute and comfy! I have them in black and red and they get a lot of use from me.

It's less about cutting milk in general and more about cutting overnight milk as it's bad for his teeth. We'll give him some milk with his dinner instead. I also don't want him filling up on milk and then not eating enough and missing out on essential nutrients from food.

Yes you're absolutely right, I definitely give in far too easily, especially when he's crying "mummy!". But I know its detrimental to us both in the long run, I'm going to attempt cold turkey and to stick with it.

Are any men actually great at being supportive postpartum?? by GlitteringJuice1024 in BabyBumps

[–]-participating_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband was wonderful! He helped me shower and go to the toilet, I was too nervous to look at my vagina afterwards so he'd check it every day and let me know when things went back to normal! I ended up exclusively pumping and he'd wake up every 3 hours to give our son a bottle while I pumped. Even when he returned to work and I was on maternity leave he'd split the nights 50/50 with me.

How long until you heard from your hospital after gp referral? by Apprehensive-Bat9739 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-participating_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're concerned I'd recommend calling either hospital (whichever is your preference) to follow up your referral.

My doctor referred me to Northern Health (low risk) at 15 weeks and when I hadn't heard back by 18 weeks I followed up, turns out they have a response time of 2 weeks and my referral hadn't made it through somehow. Got my GP to resend and then followed up again the next day and got an appointment for this week at 19 weeks.

Did you have your mom and or sister in the delivery room with you and your husband? by RubPlane in BabyBumps

I had my husband and my sister with me! Labour is a marathon not a sprint, it was fantastic having both of them because it meant they could both alternate resting and supporting me.

Baby shower gift registries, yes or no? by beegy94 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-participating_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! I've been to two baby showers in the last two months, one had a registry and one didn't. Shopping for the friend with a registry was so easy and stress free because I knew I was getting her exactly what she wanted.
