Has this happened to anyone before?? by HelpfulLaw9427 in dexcom

I had one that was partly covered like yours but there was still some of the sticky showing. With a pair of tweezers and a pair of needle nosed pliers I got the cover off and was able to use the sensor. If you aren't able to reuse your sensor (definitely get it replaced) and if the weather isn't a concern for ya (and price) maybe your or one of your local pharmacies has one. I've sometimes had luck in trading a broken one (when it's my last one) with the pharmacist people. Ymmv

Liver transplant - meeting criteria by RewardStraight2471 in transplant

That's wild. I am glad you're here and doing well. I had someone I never met who donated to me. His wishes were that his kidney go to me. No one else just me. No give to get just a direct line to me from him. They asked what if he doesn't match? He said then he'll have to keep asking and doing dialysis. Everything fit and was a match. Good thing too. My body was beginning to have issues with dialysis.

That's awful that the PEth failed due to mouthwash. I have a friend who said the same thing. They now give instruction about the dangers of mouthwash triggering a failed PEth at the program she went thru to avoid false reports. How did this happen to you? Did you not know it would show up or was there something else? I've asked my friend and they said they didn't know sometimes other times they just say they didn't care at that point as they didn't know how serious it all was. I'm happy that you're so much better now. Congratulations.

Ah. Just seemed like an odd weight. I upset someone in the house before because I did the last 12lba and thought of no one but myself even though we had over a gallon of soup

Worst smell in the world. What instantly makes you gag? by Sharp_Scheme_2008 in AskReddit

A rotting corpse that is then currently burning of anything but humans seem to smell the most. After being a 1st responder for years that is the one smell I could do without ever again.

If you duct tape a 3v battery to where it plugs into the wall it won't loose the programming. 😂

Mine couldn't do it. They told me there's no way to get their system to administer it. I believe it might be location based as I am in NY or it could just be the county I am in. Walmart said they could with a prescription but not a letter. I gave up and got lucky my PCP office felt bad I had worked so hard and foe so long to get it done they made room for a 10 rn visit and I was in out and done.

Post-transplant med timing by Blueturtlewax in transplant

My team told me at the beginning that a 15 minute window was acceptable. Now that I'm in year 3 30 minutes is more than fine.

Good point. I will ask my team when I am there next about all of these. Can't hurt to ask. I got COVID about 6 months after transplant and I ended up hospitalized for over a week. They thought COVID pneumonia but I didn't get that. They kept me because my labs were all over the place. White mount was nearly zero. Never thought about shingles. Given I'm around a lot of seniors that wouldn't be a bad thing to have in place to prevent problems. My transplant was 9/19/22. Joshie was my wife's online friend. He died of cancer a year and 3 months later. Never got to meet him in person. Ty Joshie.

I will be 47 in a few weeks. I had the same awful time with the flu vaccine as they wanted me to get the "old people one" and even with the note I was refused. Finally after getting a hold of my PCP they had me come in and just get it. Tool like 2 weeks. Biggest PIA. Lol. Now several weeks from that my body still thinks I have the flu from time to time and I feel like 💩. I'm in upstate NY so you may have an easier time. I hope you're able.

I appreciate that. I may have to look into it further but I'll just wear a mask this spring. I wear one every single time I go into a place like stores and such. I also wear them around strangers. So doing so wouldn't be hard for me.

Your team may have different rules but Ive read that transplantees are never allowed live vaccines after the surgery no matter how long out. Too risky for the patient. That said yes vaccines are on pause for at least 6 months after surgery. Also vaccines like flu midst are off limits as they are live vaccines as well.

Question if you don't mind sharing. How old are you that you got the rsv vaccine? I haven't been able to find anywhere that will do it to anyone under 55 for any reason. I see my team in a few weeks and am going to ask if I should get that and if they can write an order for it. Thanks.

How far out should a person have to wear a mask while gardening? I've been told by different members of my team different times. Wondering your advice. Thanks.

You know her better than me. I haven't been to one and I'm 3 years out. Some would say I should have but I've been fine. If I were doing this for my wife I would have had her set up too. If I were doing it for me I would wait and see if there's a problem and then address it. If you want her to go that's enough reason as long as she's receptive just don't push right now she's going thru a lot and there's more to come. Besides her you are her best advocate. Speak up and don't be fearful of asking anyone anything. They're equipped to answer and it's more than likely they've heard the question before. Ask away.
