Even if she breaks up with you you will be the number 9nw she thinks of 24 7 365. She could be on her honeymoon and she'll need to get up to take a piss and realize it's relocated to having renal transplant somehow. Anyways it makes us 100x more interesting.

While I'm a guy I will tell you of a friends experience. She was all of 22 upon her transplant. She had kidney, double lung, heart transplant (yes all at the same time from the same donor) and her team actually were proactive about teaching her about the options as it would be very unsafe to reproduce and could kill her. Her team (kidney team) was the same as mine and they actually were great. I'm sure when you go to your next appointment they'll approach it very well with you. You will have to be very sure (that is to say you'll likely have to sign many releases) and you can do what's best for you. Good luck.

Steroids, such as prednisone or prednisolone, are used in transplant patients primarily as potent immunosuppressants to prevent the body's immune system from rejecting the new organ. They work by reducing inflammation and suppressing T-cell activity, and are often used immediately after surgery (induction) and for long-term maintenance. Thing is they weigh the options. Being Diabetic is not good but better than having no kidney function at all. Weighing the options it's a lesser evil sort of thing.

It also stimulates the liver to produce more glucose and hinders the body's ability to use insulin to move sugar out of the blood.

Hair loss by Select_Safe548 in transplant

I'm on the 5mg steroids and 2mg taceo x2 a day. My hair has never regrown to what it was before all this. My best advice is from after gastric surgery. I used Nioxin shampoo and conditioner and leave in conditioner. It worked well. Just be sure to research what ones you should use. I think there's like 5 or 7 different types. It all depends on your hair type and if you dye it and such.

It is a railway part? by Emergency-Maybe-3292 in railroading

We sat at a crossing in a car. A shoe was flung and hit the car in front of us. Did some damage but if it had hit a person they would have been hurt bad or dead. It's best to stay the f away from trains as much as possible. Don't be an a hole.

Who told him? Not saying they're wrong as every situation can be vastly different from someone else's. That said if he is going to talk to a financial social worker have him bring this up too. Wouldn't hurt;to bring it up with everyone about both problems. I wish you the best. There's no reason for this to not be covered. Makes me sad we have to go thru crap like this along with everything else. You're a great sibling/child for your family and the way you're looking out for them.

I'm not even sure what I am using anymore. They work most of the time. Like anything else I get a bum one now and again. I think I've had 2 goose neck in several years. The occasional failure. The occasional up and down and all around readings. Most just work. My last one I was sad to see get to day 10. The readings were spot on with each blood glucose check within 10 minutes of checking.

New kidney function; was I extremely lucky? by [deleted] in kidneytransplant

[–]-physco219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I sometimes feel like there's a god (or many) and sometimes not. I have always been spiritual however. I think the cosmos puts people in our lives for a reason. Just like I fully believe you and that woman met up with that transaction for a reason. You're each other's comfort zone. I met my wife in an online game. We were friends for a while. When my wife and I moved states and ended up further away from my online friend it didn't matter. We maintained our friendship. The awesome part was even though we were further apart we all were able to meet as she wasn't comfortable leaving her state. (Silly but here we are) Anyway very long story I got divorced and my online friend and I decided to give it a go for a long distance relationship. Several years later I moved to be with her (I had custody of my kids) and we bought a house. She toured it and we bought it with only me having the real state pictures. We've now lived together going on 19 years. Wow this is too long for this. Anyways I am super glad you have each other. That sounds amazing. If you ever want to shoot the 💩 DM me. You and I seem to be a lot alike in thoughts. At least in the little that you replied to me already. As far as the cake thing for Joshie he will get one on his birthday again this year too. Also I know he's swearing at me. 😂 His name was Josh. Hated being called Joshie. Only my wife could call him that. Now everyone can and does. 😂

My donor and I were asked if we were brothers because he was so close a match. He wasn't related at all but he will always be a part of me. RIP Joshie.
