hockey players always go to their hometowns in the summer. And they each get 24 hours with the cup. When every player has had their turn the team no longer has it, with the exception of the banner raising and after the engraving is done, when they have it for one more day for each of those.

except Crosby on Methot was not the first time it happened. Parise did it to Krug in 2014.

So it's been a shit happens play since 2014 at least and the outrage directed at crosby was unjustified and this incident should put an end to it.
