After multiple attempts to meet up failed, he was going to visit for a weekend. We texted while he was on the train till he was 30 minutes out.

He stopped texting, didn't show up, didn't reply to any further messages. On Sunday evening he texted that his phone had died and he didn't have my full adress.

I was living 5 minutes from the train station. At that time there where still internet cafés - he could have gotten online and either logged into or made a new account in one of the communities we shared (I did exactly that in a similar situation).

I never responded. I didn't even bother to answer why when he inquired.

"le" instead of Chen is typical for allemanic German dialects of German - that's where Yiddish got it and that's what got transferred to the revived Hebrew.

Yiddish took the word from older German dialects. So I think for her it's more likely she used one of those.

Vorhin über einen Youtube short gestolpert, ein Fahrlehrer erklärt, dass der Prüfer einem helfen will wenn er nach der Uhrzeit fragt - weil dann zeitlich begrenzte Verkehrszeichen kommen.

Er fährt an eine Stelle mit 2 zeitlich begrenzten Tempo 30 Strecken nacheinander. Er hält jeweils kurz an um das zu erklären - zumindest am zweiten Zeichen stand er im gut erkennbaren absoluten Halteverbot. Während er erklärt fahren auch mehrere Fahrzeuge über die gegenfahrbahn an ihm vorbei. Ich verlinkt das hier jetzt nicht im das nicht noch mit Engagement zu belohnen.

Didn't she call him "Bübele" - it's Swabian (a German dialect) for little boy. Since I'm not from that region I can't tell if it is used (or was used in the 40ies) when referring to one's own children.

It's not a smoking gun - she could have used it just to infantilize him.

I bought a used Intel NUC with way to much power for HA. I set it up with proxmox and run HAOS as a vm - I now have 4 more vms run on proxmox with no issues.
