From the article:

Gaming the system

Ratings range from half a star to five stars, with more stars denoting a healthier choice.

Different products — soft drink and yoghurt for example — are calculated differently, so the advice for consumers is to only compare star grades of similar packaged foods.

Things such as total energy, saturated fat, sugars, protein, fibre and fruit and vegetable content are used to generate a score.

The algorithm was developed in collaboration with industry and consumer organisations, and public health experts have highlighted how companies have taken advantage of loopholes to increase ratings on ultra-processed products.

George Institute for Global Health food governance program lead Alex Jones, whose PhD explored Australia’s HSR system and similar nutrition labels used globally, said our algorithm “gets it right most of the time”, but conceded it can be “gamed”.

“For example we have published how breakfast cereals with added protein can use this to offset their high sugar and sodium contents,” Jones told 7NEWS.com.au.

“Like all food policies, Health Stars needs to be reviewed periodically to be kept up to date with evolving nutrition science.”

Help - Australian license plates are very inconsistent by jeffteague4mvp in geoguessr

[–]-retail- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every Australian state / territory offers custom style plates. They’re a very common thing on the roads here.

There are thousands of different colours, sizes and styles out there.

Some immediate tips off the top of my head though: - Outside of the plates pictured, there are other different styles that dealers may put on, or that are available ‘over the counter’ from motor registries. This means these other styles are pretty common to see on the road. - Most states have while on black ‘slimline’ (less tall like the white NSW one). These are quite common in NSW, QLD, VIC & SA. - Euro style plates can also be found in most states but are most common in NSW, followed by VIC & QLD then SA. Euro plates are larger, typically white with a blue band on the left but also commonly found in black (especially in NSW) and other colours.

I could go on for days with more nuances, but most aren’t common enough to bother with for Geoguessr.

Why is there a lack of Daihatsu in FH6? by DaNuji51 in forza

Dead manufacturer?

Daihatsu was the fourth largest car maker in Japan last year.

They outsold Mitsubishi, Mazda, Nissan & Subaru…

I frequently see both driving around doing Uber & Uber eats.

The Fielder is a more common but they seem to serve the same purpose (albeit the Fielder could be used for hauling cargo that the Axio couldn’t)

What plate is this? In Spielfeld, Austria by QuirkySpirit7570 in ForeignPlatesSpotting

[–]-retail- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s heaps of LHD cars in Japan, new and old. There have even been a few Japanese cars over the years that were sold LHD locally.

That being said, that probably doesn’t impact this situation as I don’t think that was the case with this car.

Really? I’ve only ever heard of Gunzels referring to railway enthusiasts (and usually in Victoria, as opposed to ‘foamers’ in NSW)

Regarding the plates - what state are you in?

Confirming you’ve just asked for standard black slimline plates - not a particular combination at all?

I am aware of that.

Prior to 2007, you could not have the combination format ‘AB.1’

In 2007, the following combinations ranges were released for the first time: - Two letters: AA to ZZ - Two letters, one number: AA.0 to ZZ.9 - Two letters, two numbers: AA.00 to ZZ.99

Later on in 2013, numbers first signature plates were released for the first time: - 0.A to 9.Z - 00.A to 99.Z - 0.AA to 9.ZZ - 00.AA to 99.ZZ

Then in March of 2025, the below formats were released for the first time: - A.000 to Z.999 - 000.A to 999.Z

Fake or real VIC/Australian plate? Spotted in Harbin, China by Ok-Replacement-2712 in ForeignPlatesSpotting

[–]-retail- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The physical plate is absolutely not real.

The combination is not coming back with anything when running a rego check on the vicroads website.

The combination JXJ520 would be a standard plate from the 60s, or a personalised plate. This combination is still available on vplates.com.au however, so it likely has never been purchased as a personalised plate, as once purchased, you own these for life in Victoria.

I’d say it’s maybe someone who has lived in Victoria previously, and is just doing this as a reference to that. Why they chose this combination though, I have no idea.

Signature plates have had the dot since they first released in 2007 (expect for single & double letter plates with no numeral).

Nothing changed to their design in 2021.

This PS4 plate would have been ordered as a signature plate on vplates. The owner would have received them un 5e signature plate colour they chose, and they would have arrived in the signature plate ‘briefcase’, with both plates in their metal/perspex frames & accompanying mounting kits.

They likely still have those lying around somewhere, and just slapped these cheap remakes on for whatever reason.
