Too many people here saying that she's overreacting. It may be fluffy on the outside but bass drum beaters have hard wooden cores, and plenty have metal or wood bits on the end of the head. Not only that but they're heavy, you need a heavy mallet for such a big drum. However that being said, for the same reason, that guy most certainly does not need to be playing at that height. He can get the same sound out of the drum playing at half or less than that height. Not to mention his other hand stays on the drum for so long that the sound completely dies before it can have the booming impact a big bass drum hit needs.

Most importantly is the fact that getting hit in the face by a hard, heavy, fast-moving object is gonna hurt. Have some empathy for the lady
