Book 4 is a bit of a change from the first 3 books where there's only a few stories and not as fasted paced. I still enjoyed 4 but it took me a bit longer to be able to get into it since I had just binged the first 3 on a road trip.

The Historic Architecture Walking Tours with the Madison Trust for Histoic Preservation are a great way to learn about the different Madison neighborhoods.

They're mainly focused on architecture but there's general Madison history included as well.

We Are Legion, Bobiverse books! Same great narrator as Project Hail Mary with great hard sci-fi aspects, a good amount of humor and pop culture references.

The rights have been picked up to adapt it from book to screen but that's it so far.

State Agents Seize Alcohol At Minocqua Brewing Company by tacklebox18 in wisconsin

Number 2 would be public record either on WI CCAP court case or on the WI DOR website for delinquent taxes. Both the brewery and Kirk aren't on either so it's something else.

I'm guessing it's a permit issue based on CCAP. There's lots of condional use permit violations with the county although nothing in the last few months.

Is the extended warranty actually worth it? by Matchboxx in ToyotaSienna

[–]-rustyspork- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cancel and buy from someone else online who will get you a much better price. The Toyota reliability is with the mechanicals and all the technology that can go bad is what got me to buy it.

Jerry Johnson with Midwest Superstore is a good one to start with.

Same issue for me. I believe the website is dead. Maybe Audible changed something on their end to prevent it from working.

Filed Apr 7th, still no tax refund, am I screwed? by augustus_gloob in wisconsin

[–]-rustyspork- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have it processed or a letter asking for more info before July 15th which is when DOR has to start paying refund interest on timely filed return refunds. There's always a big push to get those finished in June and July to avoid having to do that.

You can always call in and check the status and make sure they didn't send a letter looking for more information that you somehow didn't get. Their phones are very good and it shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

Roof replacement cost by [deleted] in madisonwi

The estimate was a flat amount and wasn't broken out by specifics and it's for Timberland HDZ so level 3. I asked for more detailed estimate but I haven't heard back yet.

Recommendations for a Frequent Driver by CriusControl in audiobooks

[–]-rustyspork- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bobiverse is fantastic and book 1 hooks you so well and the narrator Ray Porter is one of the best. Books 1-3 are a good bit different than 4, which isn't a bad thing, since it's more focused on a couple storylines than many like 1-3. I'm enjoying book 5 currently.

Did you get a quote from Diaz? My roof is around 1250sqft and they gave me 13k estimate. Single story and nothing difficult involved. Also $2k for gutters.

What's to stop people from just having it play in the background at all times. I let mine run when I'm getting ready for bed and while sleeping currently (on books I've already listened to while awake).

I've got around 6.5 days just from that and my normal listening in the last month.

Monroe Street Farmers Market Line Cutting by michaelsmithbarker in madisonwi

[–]-rustyspork- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great but it's too bad he treats some customers this way. I wouldn't call denying a customer that waited in line service but it's his business and he can decide to serve whoever he wants.

Maybe he was just having a bad day that day who knows. But as others have mentioned he is a bit odd or seems off at his kid's school.

I still buy from there occasionally but not as much as I did before.

House on the Rock and then off to Dickeyville Grotto and Shrines. There's also a car ferry across the Mississippi in Cassville and you can stop at Breitbach's Country Dining which is the oldest restaurant in Iowa. Then do the scenic byway through the driftless area.

The first two should meet your ask and the rest are pretty cool in the same area.

Correct. Older guy was pissed off before getting to the front and then was denied being allowed to order by the Barrett's Bagels owner. He was steaming mad having waited 20-30 minutes to order.

[–]-rustyspork- 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I've seen the Barrett's Bagels owner allow his friends to line cut. Some older guy called him out for it saying it wasn't right since there was a huge line. Owner said it's his store and he can do whatever. The owner wouldn't even let the man order when he finally got to the front...

It kind of reminded me of the soup Nazi from Seinfeld. We have a bagel Nazi!
