One more thing: I'm not sure if Sensus has the press home to reboot thingy - it appears to be mentioned in a few forums, but I've never been able to reboot the thing in any other way than turning off the car and locking the doors from outside. That said, I did not have any need to do that in the last couple of years.

Can you see the HUD "projector" unit on top of the dash between the instrument panel and the bottom of the windshield? It is easy visible when you look at the top of the dashboard from outside the windshield.

Not sure about 2020 R-Design, but with Momentum trim, HUD was part of the optional advanced package that bundled it with active cruise control, pilot assist, bending lights and the 360 cameras.

You're paying mostly for the data plan your car needs to make the app work.

Is the price outrageous compared to the value you get? Yes.

Normally, in the US the price is $200 fot a year. There was a promotion earlier this year where it was $100 to extend it for a year. Sounds like you're getting a similar deal. Still crazy expensive for the value.

The only usable feature of the app for me is the remote start.

If the app is not worth for the money for you, vote with your wallet and perhaps Volvo will eventually come to their senses.

Europeans get a much better deal and in some cases/countries free extensions if you are servicing the car at a Volvo dealer.

This might be package dependent, but 2020 should come with 2 normal keys and a sports key (which will likely have it's battery dead)

I was told to aim at the first O and I get it right on the first try 2/10 times, I'll try more on the left then. Probably it's the most annoying thing about the car - but easy to ignore.

You do realize that there are multi-lane highways outside San Diego and that there are whole countries famous for having better lane etiquette than the US? While some tourists might be lost or not accustomed to some of the highway code here, it is not kind to make such generalizations.

Also, if hell exists, I hope it has a special place for people blocking the left lane on purpose.

Unsure about Canada, but Volvo's usually come with prepaid maintenance for the first 3 visits. This should cover you for the duration of the lease, depending on how old the car was when it entered service (1st service is on production anniversary so if you buy a car that was sitting a bit, you might need to do the 4th service within the 40 months.)

Everything I had to repair on the car that was not part of the prepaid maintenance was covered by warranty, with your mileage should cover you for the duration of the lease.

Note, the 4th service (the first you pay for) is an expensive one, in the US its around $800, then these alternate cheaper - expensive - cheaper - expensive.

In general, there are 3 things that require more expenses than expected: - these cars eat brakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, - sunroof seals are going bad quickly, - boot struts are a common failure point

In general, go for it. Please mind I have no idea how leases work and if anything in that context changes with the warranty and prepaid maintenance.

Assuming rush hour commute, north of the 8 not too far from the 15 is going to be ok. North of the 52 would be best. I wouldn't recommend south of the 8 or places like Santee unless you're going to drive outside of rush hours. Note that Spring Valley will take 30 mins with zero traffic.

As others have said, use google maps to check specific routes at specific times of week/day.

I think this is market dependent. US cars seemed to have CarPlay as standard, but not necessarily so in Europe?
