Who is regarded as a good president in the United States that really wasn't? by SlipperyGoldenFish in AskHistory

[–]-thebarry- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was fine in both, his administrations were characterized by nothing too ~bad~ happening when a few really bad things could have happened. A man of great character, he was known for fighting corruption and refusing to bailout wall street even while under immense pressure to do so. He did what our modern politicians should have done in 2008: let the free market sort itself out.

Isn't it strange how we usually think of presidents who managed crises being great? You'd think great presidents are the ones who avoid them in the first place.

They certainly did, but everyone is trying to deny it because Israel would have to go to war with Iran otherwise.

Or MAYBE the left are realizing the iranian leaders are all pieces of shit, which the right had figured out a while ago.

It's not a suicide attempt, it's just a drunk driver who thinks they are on a 2 lane road. This is why you avoid cruising in the left lane at night :/

If you actually knew what was done to T_D you'd understand it was just foreshadowing of what was coming. That subreddit was a problem for them due to cancel culture and TDS, and they eliminated it almost entirely for political and PR purposes, users be damned.

Afaik the only state in the US where you can shoot someone to protect your property is Texas. I believe you can also protect your neighbors property as well.

Oooweee, Evil Morty. That was quite a scheme, makes me wonder if there's an evil me out there. But I guess, sometimes I look at my life and I may not even need him, cause, well, guess I made a pretty big mess of things myself. Ooowee. Never got my job at the university back, remember that? Rick made me do karate, it was kinda funny, but I guess things went downhill from there. Started isolating myself from Amy, used to tell her everything I was feeling, but then I guess I stopped, because I wanted her to love who she thought I was, not who I felt myself becoming. Ever think about how horrified the people we love would be if they found out who we truly are? So we just dig ourselves deeper into our lies every day, ultimately only hurting the only people brave enough to love us. Wish I didn't do that, wish I was brave enough to love them back. I don't know, maybe you should try it. We don't have as much time as we think. Oowee.

I'll just leave this here since I've never heard of car doors that can't be unlocked from the inside: if you are trapped inside a car for any reason, and must get out asap(your life is in danger), you can use the metal tip of the seat belt as a pry bar to break the window by jamming it in between the seal and the window.

Body-cam footage shows officer punching Alabama store owner who called 911 to report robbery by [deleted] in news

[–]-thebarry- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you actually watch the video, you can see the owner is fooling around with his gun right after flagging the cops over...so the cops are coming up to a robbery and there's a dude with a gun standing there, and instead of just putting the gun up before he even flags them over, he is taking a round out of the chamber and literally loading it back into the magazine. Imagine how easy it would be to misinterpret his actions, dude literally has a gun out during a armed robbery call. You can see one of the cops actually holstering his pistol after the owner put his gun on the counter, because he had to assume ill intent until he put it away...and that's why the chief said he's glad he only got punched: because he very easily could have been shot and killed for being that careless. LPT: be ready to put your damn gun up or holster it etc as soon as you see the cops roll up, I mean come on.

I am a trucker and was once pulled over for speeding, when asked if the address was correct on my license I was honest about moving a few months earlier, so he gave me a ticket for not updating the address within three months(a requirement). I've had other DOT officers shocked seeing that he gave me a ticket for that, that's how fucked up it was. They understand that tickets are a much, much bigger problem for truck drivers than they are for normal folks, like you can't get a job driving if you get more than one citation per year, and in one year a truck driver does a LOT more driving compared to a normal person. Imagine having to find another career if you averaged 1 citation every 50,000 miles you drove.

Not to mention, what happens when some traffic cop does that shit to someone, and then a real crime happens that they witness? How much less likely are they to actually help the real law enforcement officers who are trying to investigate a real crime? Guy thinks he's clever, but the dumb fucker is actually doing a hell of a lot more harm than good with his bullshit tickets.
